The Judges! Brian Robinson on the right ready to go!

Okay, for the record, we even start judging if we see a boat on a trailer on the highway, but this is serious judging, not judge Judy judging, TAHOE judging. And as judging goes, we would say, these are the judges of all judges. They take that stuff very seriously there and we are happy they do.

Oh Mr Judge, over here! Over here! Oh Mr Judge!

At least the fender color matches.

To win at Tahoe means something, and is always earned and a sport there. It’s one of the reasons people bring there boats from across the country to be at the show.

I can tell what Brian is thinking all the way from here in Virginia. Not that I am judging.

Now to be fair, there is also some one off stuff there that is not judged. YA, it’s judged, just not officially, and fun boats are always part of the show. It’s an amazing lake, and full of west coast history and texture… And the light.. Oooofffffff! Nothing is crisper and clearer than a Tahoe boat ride.

Dang!

Double dog dang

Double dog ding dang

Here they come

thats a big’n

Over the top shot

A HUGE shout out and thanks to fellow Woody Boater Steve Natale for sending us in this report! You can see more of Steves stuff on his personal photographer Site HERE. Worth a bookmark.

Love me a small Riva!

And here are more fun photos from the set up from Steve. Thanks again and keep m coming! Live ish from Lake Tahoe!

Plastic on the outside, woody on the inside.

Obexers, puffy clouds, blue sky!

I don’t why those dam white plastic sail boats bother me. BUT THEY DO! Leaches! Oh ya, I could go on a rant about Sailboaters. Yes I know how to sail, and love it. But the entire passion is about using stuff for free. The only thing worse is Jet Skis. Mosquitoes on the water. Wow, that set me off this morning. While I am at it, Ethanol, and … OK, I need to move on now.

Phew, back to wood!

Under cover and parked for good!

AHHHHHHHHH! I love a pre war Sportsman. And that Green is to die for. I LOVE IT! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Love this too, see I should not be a judge, I would be like a Little leage judge, everyone gets a trophy

Ahhhh, that green again. You taunter you! Steve. Stop with the Green leather interior!

Oh yea! Classic plastic and wood, together!

Nice!

I love the power speed boats out there

And those big Rivas!

Color matching fendors are a winner winner chicken dinner. While at the dock.

The other side

Big Boy is a big winner, Restoration by Sierra Boat Co.

OK, I am getting overwelmed!

Stop, too much to take in

Ahhhhhh, Steve, youre killing me

BE AWARE! Not to mention all the drool all over the docks.

Wish you were there? Well, get off your ass and go! No one will judge you for being late!

Thanks again, and again to Steve Natale for his report, and the Tahoe gang for keeping the quality and passion challenged to achieve greatness. If you want to know more about the show, click here to the website. But hurry, they are already underway.

Is that big triple Big Boy the same boat that was in Michigan about 25 years ago? Great photos!

Tahoe is one great show…Everybody ought to try and go at least once…The boats are great, the people are gracious and welcoming and the weather is usually cooperative.

Hahaaaaaaaaaaa, ” Sailboats……the entire passion is about using stuff for free.” What a genius line.
It’s killing me to see these pictures as I am over from New Zealand in LA this week but not able get to the show. So close…..

If anyone who is at the show is so inclined, could you get the name and hull number on the ’39 22′ Chris triple show in the second last picture? I own a sister boat and try to keep track of the remaining examples out of the 24 that were built.

Can’t quote hull number but I believe boat is “Mary Bryte”. delivered with twin “KBs”. ACBS directory might list.

Thanks for jogging my memory-I’d forgotten about that boat! AFAIK, CC built one twin engined 22′ for ’39 and one 23′ for 1940. I’ve got the hull info in a file at home.

Mary Bryte, originally Carolyn V #22125. I have all the hull card info for the 22-footers if you need it.

Thanks Brian. I own #22132. Last I knew there were 8 of the original 24 built still in existence.
