Sorry to interrupt stories on boats, but this way you know why certain things are happening. Warning its gonna be one of those silly days. Woody Boater has been having issues. Please let us know if you are having any other strange issues… Wait. I am sure you are having strange issues, and really do not want to hear about your love of women’s old smelly socks. That truly is a strange issue, we are just talking about Woody Boater issues, OK wait. the fact that I even brought up women’s old socks is an issue.

Lets say, technical issues, not spelling issues, or taste issues, or HR Department issues, or political issues, or insensitivity issues, or male chauvinist issues, or … dang, we have a lot of issues here. Oh boy.

The new APP is going to be very cool.

Over the past couple weeks we have been working on the back end of Woody Boater. Nothing that you can see, but you may be feeling it. We have been doing this for several reasons. One, because of the new APP and way Woody Boater interacts with the latest technology and mobile use, and well.. it was time to update stuff.

An un related photo of Ruby with a sailor hat on. Why? No idea! She has issues too.

The other is search and speed. Woody Boater scored the lowest score we have ever seen in our search tests. Now, to be fair to us, I really did not care much. We are found by many people, but mainly because in many cases we are the only ones talking about certain topics. Like toilet seats!
But in some areas, its getting a tad crowded. The good news is that its fixed and we are up to above average. Whatever average is.

You may have also noticed some issues with the comment section. That dam Captcha thing with the math has been getting moody. So we disable it and a crapload of spam creeps in and people can comment and then we turn it back on and off while trying to find a better solution. The good news is if you want to comment, no math right now.

Of course you want to know more about todays header. Well, Aaron has issues as well. See this is the only photo he took of a barn find. Of course its art to us, but we also know you want more to the story, and well, in lies the issue. There is none, just the photo. Want to make up your own? Like it was bought new and the guys wife found out he was hording womens old socks and a divorce happened and the boat got put in the barn! Or maybe not.

I think a lot of the technical issues started when you first posted pictures of the plaid. Coincidence? I think not!

All seems well yesterday and today, but Tuesday it took forever to load on the old IPad or would not load at all. I think your selection of photos for today’s story really depict what I think the users experience every time any “upgrade” is made to a digital system. Why can’t we leave a good thing alone!

The new app works great when I remember it’s there. Love some of the added features. I guess when it’s the only option to use you won’t have to hit me with a stick to remind me.

Hi Russ yes it will. It’s already android approved but waiting on Apple. It’s a rough process but that process is making it far better

We have had some of the same troubles with the new CCABC site ever since it launched. Luckily most of the challenges have been on the back end where our members don’t notice it.

What is this about? Will my flip phone be affected? Tell me this won’t result in Thayer reruns…..
Do whatever….I won’t understand any of it but appreciate you making things easier for the cyber unchallenged.

After spening over 40 years in Infornation Technology before finally retiring, I learned that unless it was a customer I was trying to sell something to, the best rule of thumb was “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. You’d be surprised how much old code got remediated for Y2K and is still running even today.

In any case, all the best with the new website backend and new mobile apps.

Yeah, and if Dave hadn’t busted in and pulled all the memory banks, HAL would still be running the spaceship Discovery just fine. HAL had the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission.

I wrote an indexing algorithm for a gov’t agency that ran over 20 years without crashing or any modifications and was platform independent. How smart am I? I’m an idiot, should have written a piece of crap that crashed like Microsoft and charged the customer every 18 months to upgrade to the next version which was even worse. Bill Gates is a genius and we’re smucks.
