Ni pictures showing up?

We have received a bunch of frustrated emails from the good citizens of Woodyboaterville complaining that there are no photos showing up on WoodyBoater when on an ipad. Now, we are getting this out there because through some detective work, have found that its older ipads. Roughly 25% of our readership, and growing. iphones are fine, but these old Ipads are having an issue. I asked if they had checked the usual issues. Restart, Smell for leaky fuel… etc.. Even went as far as googleing the topic. Yes, I went that far.. And nothing helpful. Just stuff about updating which has been done, clearing out the cache, and other stuff. The Boatress has an old ipad doing the same thing so I can experiment.

Works on newer ipads

Now, its also appearing on other websites, so, not sure if its in the ipad, or some sort of updated widget we are using and not knowing. We have looked, and we know how important that toilet seat from a Chris Crap is to you all. The good news is you can atleast read this text…. For whatever that’s worth… yeah.. Sorry about that. We are working on the issue, and if any of you ipadadytes have figured this out, be a hero today and let us know. For gods sake man, there are boat pictures being missed out there!

The only thing I like more than checking woodyboater in the morning is my Ticonderoga #2 and a legal pad – no technical difficulties with either and I can doodle on the legal pad…and chew the pencil!

Wow, so it’s not my classic iPad needing to be put out to pasture. I have been forced to use the desktop or Marianne’s iPad to view photos. Now that I know that the WoodyBoater FBI is on the case, I will wait for direction from the skipper about what I need to do to get back my photos. I have total faith!

Two choices. Update to a newer iPad or get some grand kids.
I use the Jaxon peed on it story and go get a new one.
    OK that’s a third choice.

The pictures were not working with my normal iPad browser either… I assumed it was my problem, so was trying a few things and found that for some reason, in the ‘private’ setting it worked! Now both seem to be working!

Thanks Floyd! I now know what my kids are getting for Christmas! Eye Pads, and maybe a Ticonderoga “stylus” or two.

BTW, I don’t have an iPad and can’t help there, but do any iPhone iOS 11 users have any tips on how to get pictures taken with your phone (or past iPhones) to upload to the comments section here? I have tried a few different apps to resize and change file type but with unsatisfactory results. The old simple app I used to use doesn’t run on iOS 11 yet (ever?).

WoodyBoater loads fine on my 6 month old ipad but I had to download Firefox to control the ads on facebook for it to work.

This is probably my son’s fault. He does something with the Cloud Overlay Services for Google. I don’t understand what that means either, but he probably turned something off.

… just another reason to stick with a ’90’s vintage ‘computer’ — no ipads, upads, wepads to complicate life = more free unfrustrated time to play with the boats!

    Untechnology rocks!

I had the same issue recently, and found that disabling the JavaScript in settings helped. But only for this site, then all other sites had no pics. So for now it’s an extra step to view pics. Or just do it here while at work!

The hosts on my usual talk radio show this morning were talking about this and basically said that older iPads are becoming obsolete for anything other than Candy Crush or Cookie Jam. They suggested turning them into serving trays since it no longer matters if you still your drink on it anyway.
