We Need A Good Recommendation For A Meal And A Place To Stay!

Restaurants are just one of the cool Woody Boater App places to visit.

As we build out the Woody Boater App. Tweeks have been made regarding loading and issues. Androids still seem to have spotty issues, and for some darn reason, some of you are all showing up in Falls Church. We are thinking it has something to do with how the address has been put in. With all that said, we have been adding to the Recommended page so fun places to eat and stay overnight are in there. And we would like to hear from you, any of your favorite classic boat hangouts. No chains please. Just those fun family owned cool places that can make a day on the water more fun.

Catch 22 in Algonac is a great meal. Worth a visit when..if for some reason you are going to visit that area this year.. Maybe around September.. I just wish there was a reason to go? mmmmmm Anyone have any ideas?

Or Troys favorite Hang out Trevett Country Store. We will get the info and logo. We just need the name and area

Lodging? Got any good recommends for a place to stay in your area? Once again, the chains have it already covered, but there are always fun secret places with Docks or funky local flavor that your fellow Woody Boaters would like to know more about.

These are two local places near me right now. On your app, if you live in California, these will be the last on the list

The cool part of the app is that it knows how close you are to these places. So in a fun way you are always close to a cool place to stay or eat, or a fellow Woody Boater. Close to 400 of you have already signed up! And yes, we know of the Android issues.

You have two great opportunities to enjoy the food and classic boat atmosphere at catch 22 in Algonac. The first is the 33rd annual Michigan chapter show on June 22 – 24. We are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the chapter!
The second opportunity is the event of the year. The ACBS International boat show in Port Huron September 9 – 15 “Boat The Blue”.
Just “Bring your Boat Home” in June and stay until September. There is plenty to do and wonderful boating to keep you busy the whole time! If you do that, I can meet you at Catch 22 and we can go boating and have dinner together. Come party with the Michigan chapter!

    nice,
i like how it sorts to closest first, so far fine wood boats is closest.

maybe you could offer us a chance to rate these as we visit similar to yelp, or do you think that might just blow up.

I’m an Android user and the app isn’t working for me but I would like to give a shout out to The Trout House in Hague, NY on Lake George. We took the boat there last June to celebrate our anniversary. Very nice people. Great location. Just a few miles north of the Hacker water front location and show room, and a couple miles south of the boat launch at Roger’s Rock state camp ground. The decor was a bit dated but that’s not why we were there. There’s a really nice place to eat within walking distance, along with a neat little local market.

All the locations mentioned are updated in the recommend area. Thanks. Also regarding the Android Issues. We have done some Data fix repairs and it seems spotty with some Android users. Same issue is how some are showing up on the map. Are you one of them in Falls Church? maybe thats connected

As far as I can tell “spotty” is not accurate and all Android users are not working.

No Androids can tell you if we are Falls Church as the map does not even show up n our screens and as mentioned above cannot register boats etc.

Maybe you could pick a guinea pig Android user to test fixes after they happen instead of using the word “seems” and getting hopes up. Test it and then report out when it is working.

Have not tried to download the app yet. It is on my to do list. Two places I would like to give a shout out to. 1 The Islander Bar in Hessel Mi, and the Cozy Corner Bar & Grill in Barbeau Mi. Both are in the eastern U.P. and are fun places to boat to.

While in Texas I have tried to log on several times just to see if the map showed me in TX, but this is all I get. Using an I-Phone 6. (that little wheel going around makes me dizzy.)

On another note we could see Reedville on our flight down from Maine. Yup right down there is Reedville Virginia!

Regarding Driving. We had several options. And it was a tag confusing. So we havea 2 to 3 day delay on travel to follow your logo. We can change that so it follows you. Right now its set where you are most of the time. Hey, we are trying. The good news is folks can look up others in the area you want to go and see if someone, or someplace cool is close by. We have already had a success story using the location for Motorboat gargage.

have you quit out of it and restarted? Sorry to sound like a over seas call center today. I have an iphone 6 and it all works great. It will crash from time to time if I am trying to travel over India.. NOT MY HOME, my name is ROGER..

Yes. Totally quit and retried. Maybe I have dropped my phone too many times. Is that what they call a dropped call?

We have tried all the variables and get a new password email. I am betting its in the spam. I am working on a master list but your passwords are encripted so i cant see them either

Thanks Frank, looks like the email was in your spam filter. Thanks for the email. Phew.. That one had a lot of heads scratching.

App works perfect on my iPhone. My “W” follows me (was at the Toronto International Boat Show all last week selling T-shirts) and I see others that are travelling too. Not sure if the “chat” works… I have tried contacting a close Woodyboater but, have had no reply. Could just be he doesn’t want to talk to me though 🙂

  13. matt
    matt says:

We are going to change the chat system so it goes to the email provided. I know it does notify you if some one reaches out to you. but not sure how that is working. So this is part of a redo. But the idea works.

Matt , love the new app works great for me! But I have iPhone 6. Keep up the good work! I’m sure it is very frustrating. I hate IT stuff.

    Charlevoix Michigan:
The Weathervane. Great vantage point from the deck to watch the drawbridge in operation and a continual stream of nautical eye candy.
Whitefish dip is from a local fishery (Smith Fishery) and is awesome.

    Walloon Lake Michigan:
The Barrelback. Great boat-up resteraunt. Second level, great view from of the lake. And Walloon has a large population of woodies (that sounds weird), and a great sandbar.
    Noisy Fiberglas welcome too.

    Lake Charlevoix, South Arm:
The Landings. Great boat-up place. Beach vibe. Right next to the Ironton Ferry.
Confident boat launch right next door.

    Torch Lake:
Dockside. A fun place where we have already had a chance meeting with a fellow Woodyboater, the infamous Man From Muncie.
Did I mention we had FUN?

Scott! Step away from my iPad Photos! You’re ruining the narrative that ACBS directors are all boring old white men!
