Kinda Live-ish – Report In From St. Johns River Cruise North

From reports on the Southbound trip it was a mess weather wise, so its fantastic news thanks to fellow Woody Boater Gary Van Tassel for sharing this update on the Northbound River Cruise. Take it away!

Three lined up – Silver Glenn Springs

Thanks Woody,
Monday was chilly, drizzly, and windy but the cruise got underway and headed for Astor after stopping for lunch.  Trip across Lake George was a tad bumpy.

Perfect water – Silver Glenn Springs

Tuesday weather was perfect. Headed to Deleon springs AKA fountain of youth.  Capt Gerald mistakenly believed we were in amphibious vehicles as we PUSHED through a narrow cut. Had to stop three times to clean weeds out of the intakes.  Others doing lots of backing to clear propellers.   The spring was beautiful.  Back to Astor.

Cool classic look – Astor Bridge

Another perfect weather day on Wednesday.  On to Silver Glenn Springs after photo shoot from Astor bridge.  Since I was the only person with something other than smart phone I was volunteered to play photographer. So we weren’t in the picture.  They didn’t tell I would have to jump a barricade on the bridge and play frogger to cross 4 lanes of traffic to take the picture. I thought the pontoon boat added a nice touch.
Spring was wonderful.  Great trip.  Thanks to Capt Gerald!

Thanks Garry

Lol….pontoons, everywhere pontoons! The pontoons should have a show in Hontoon – and the woodys could crash it!

I’m still on board. Could this woody pontoon be part of a classic pontoon show either way I enjoyed the River cruise pics.
