Are You Ready Yet?

Stuff is busy busy on Lake Hopatcong!

This could be the weekend that unites us all? It’s been warm enough here in the Mid Atlantic, and this past week I was up in NY, and NJ, and it was sunny and 80. So are you gonna get out there finally? And so we have just one other question… Is your drain plug in? Get out there. We need great pictures.

Check your drain plug Jimmy!

Torch Lake ready? I am!

Hessel yet?

The Antique Boat Museum is open for business! Come on by!

Muskoka?

She’s waiting for her “boatride” Can you just say that one word yet and get a reaction?

Turn off the wood stove! Get out the suncreen!

Wooohoooo!

3 broken boats, still a while before any boating fun happens in Waterford. Maybe I’ll check out Craigslist, there must be something that runs great and needs nothing, for sale. 🙂

The dogs name is Chloe the wonder dog. And yes it is true, you say one word (boat) and her tail starts to wag. A dogs life, someone to feed you, take you for walks and boat rides, life is good.

Many of these people have already started their journey doing the “Great Loop. For those of you that don’t know, Florida – to NY via ICW to Canada (via Trent Severn) to Great Lakes t0 Chicago to Mississippi via Chicago River to Mobile, Alabama via Tom Bigbee back to Florida. Most stay over in Georgian Bay or some other anchorage for several weeks in the Great Lakes. If I could do this at least once in my life. I hope they are not too far in their journey yet. The Erie Canal (NY) is not scheduled to open until the 15th-18th.

BTW, you HAVE to do the loop again and again because there are multiple paths. You can do the US path through Lake Erie or the Trent Severn through Canada. lower Mississippi to N’Orleans or you can take the scenic route to Mobile Al. Then there are the side trips like the Rideau or the St. Lawrence. I think it is best to plan on 3-5 trips to make sure you get to experience most of it.

Bob and Chris Ann Braaf here last weekend and we all went boating up the river….Life’s good.
