LIVE From Port Huron..Okay, Algonac, Well Really Harsens Island

I’m moving!

As I sit fixed watching the spaghetti noodles of Florence slowly creep across the Atlantic to my doom, the rest of WoodyBoaterville has already left town and is up in Michigan at the Boat the Blue Poker run in Algonac. We have made the call and are going to be reporting cyber-live with help from trusty reporters on the scene. Today’s story is in from Shannon Knight, and Karen Harrison. No captions.. So, sorry, my bitterness and petty jealously may seep through

Ready to go Pokering around Algonac?

The warm smiles of Michigan

Happy couple!

Matt, Sorry to hear you will not be coming to Boat the Blue with us. Looks like the weather is going to be great up there for the show.
I am praying that Florence takes a right turn today or tomorrow.
That would save a lot of heart ache in the South and for you i’m sure.
    Whatever happens be safe!

Thanks for the great story about the great day we had yesterday. Our “live” reporters are doing us proud. This morning we will take all our friends on a river cruise down to St. Clair, a museum tour in Marine City, and a great lunch on the river. Then we cruise back to Port Huron for some rooftop bar partying. Wish you were here and we are all wishing you well with that damn Florence!

Nice pictures! Please…..Red Cedar (that nice looking 1947 U-22) pull in your lone fender dangling on the port side! You’re not a bunch of jamokes in a plastic boat!

Hopefully the weather in Port Huron stays great for the show. We’ve had to cancel the Smith Mountain Lake show in VA because people were traveling from 16 states and many would have to come right thru the hurricane’s path.
So – The new date is Oct. 13th. Same venue just a different month. Hope to see even more new faces in the crowd.
    Damn that Florence!

Matt: If you’d been lucky, your Governor, like the one in S.C., would have ordered manditory evacuation and then you would have had no choice but to go to Port Huron and take Suzy with you.

I hope you guys in Michigan can do this again in 5 years or so, maybe I’ll have something ready by then. Dammit, I’m supposed to be retired.

On another note, I completely forgot about Sweat Pea, what’s your plan Matt? I hear people try to find a back water and run up a creek and anchor or tie off.

Great pics! I would love to be there but there is too much going on in the U.P. I will have my memories of Hessell to get me through. Matt good luck. In the words of Captain Ron “It just a squeal boss they come on you fast and leave you fast”.

Looks like Reedville is currently forecasted to get wind puffs in the 40 mph range and a light drizzle of 6”-12”. Nothing the Boatress can’t handle by herself.

You can still come up to Michigan in September 2020, when the Water Wonderland Chapter hosts the A.C.B.S.
    International event.
First stop I hear for the pre-events will be up in Hessells…
