Lake Dora Show Countdown – 122 Days-ish! Here We Come!

Wooohooo

Well here we go! Something to look forward too. The big annual start of the classic boating season. Or as we discused last week, An Gallery Opening of Mahogany Art. Mixed with Chicken on a stick, and the finest keg beer. Ahhh hell, its party time in Florida in March. Last years show was smaller but very very fun. In fact I will say I had more fun than for years in the past. This is a fun event for sure. Below is a note and all you need to know from Terry Fiest

Currently working with the City for Temporary Docks and the lay out. It looks like we will have something similar to what we had last year, hope to know the number of docks and what we can accommodate before we send out the registration form in Jan. Our goal is to use the docks for larger boats and have the smaller boats on land display. Our new launch ramp will be used this year for all boats going in the water. We will discontinue the Tractor Valet Service and everyone will launch and recover their own boat. We will use tractors for land display.

The city of Tavares on Lake Dora. Waiting for us all.

The City of Tavares will host a reception on Thursday night—-we will have our traditional Captains Party on Friday night with entertainment by the Caribbean Chillers and we will have our dinner banquet on Saturday night.

Larry lives on and Woody Gal having some fun Woody Boater style in Tavares FLA.

All the construction and clean-up is completed and the Park looks beautiful. The new Marina is in the design phase and construction will begin after our boat show in 2019. The goal is to have the new docks and marina completed for our show in 2020.

Last year beaching was the way. We are gonna do this from now on. The best way to go – photo YNOT Yachts

We are looking forward to another great event and all planning is underway for the show in March 2019—-Up dates will be provided as we move forward and we certainly look forward to seeing everyone in Tavares in March. ACBS will have their quarterly meeting in conjunction with our show. We have a block of rooms set aside at the Mission Inn.

Friends is what its all about

Not what I was hoping for..but progress. Beaching was always my preference anyway….do hope that the docks are back by 2020 though. I will be there regardless. let’s give them a while to sort this out. Where is the “new” launch ramp?

Rich and I will be there. Also planning on a river cruise again. We rented a condo on the St. John’s River in Welaka for the month of March. Has a slip for the Torpedo. Gonna get in some golf and also spend a day at Florida Jets in Lakeland. WooHoo!!
