Life After Death For Your Classic Cruiser!

Thanks to Chad Durren for sending us in today’s story idea! Don’t burn them, re purpose them.. Bill boards, bars, playgrounds, the ideas go on and on, send us yours.. Maybe we can inspire folks out there to still have fun with there old cruiser.. Stick that old cruiser out on a mound that looks like a wake, in the center of that wheat field.. But people cut outs on it waving.. Farm field art?

Just add soil and seeds.. makes any boring feild a conversation starter and local landmark.. Heck buld a marina, call it Seed Lake!!

I have a house in Prince Edward Island Canada, I came so close to puting a 48′ lobster boat in the back yard as a guest house, the boat was free, but I just didnt think I could ever get the fish smell out of it.

The Shady Dell trailer park/motel not only has vintage trailers for rent, but they also have a 36′ 1947 Chris-Craft cruiser. All are furnished with vintage magazines, radios etc. Next time you go to Bisbee AZ, check it out! They now have a diner too! http://www.theshadydell.com

$3.50 for a pint of Coors Light is expensive for PEE-O-RHEA.

    • m-fine says:

No kidding. You could get 6 pints of boat gas for less than that and it probably tastes as good if not better!

  4. Alex says:

I am told boats built by a certain maker, which need not be mentioned, make for wonderful flower pots. No risk of overwatering as water runs right through em.

Though I’ve never tried it, I’ll bet these boats, flipped over, would also make great Chia Pets.

  5. oldbaldguy says:

Build wine casks out of them. Fill with wine dregs and the flavors imparted by the bilge planking will make it an instant success with the WoodyBoater crowd. Hell if you sell bottles of it at the WoodyBoater tent and tell everyone there is only a limited quantity m-Fine will be pleading for someone to get him a bottle! (God I hope he’s laughing.) That said I hope there are some SOV shirts at Algonac.

    • m-fine says:

The shirt was a true limited edition work of art, made all the more valuable by the extra work Woodygal had to go through for me to get it. Bilge wine wouldn’t excite me unless the bottle and label were quite special. Then I might resort to any means to acquire one, including groveling.

I do think we need more whining and complaining to get more Woodyboater(TM) products to community members who don’t or can’t go to the big shows, or for that matter any shows. This isn’t just a website about boat shows in central Florida. This is “the center of the wood boat Universe: Woodyboater!”

    Chateau Chris-Craft?
    Chateau Constellation?
    Chateau Corinthian?
    Chateau d’Craft?

Drink enuff of the stuff and you become a WoodyWino.

    Remember this?

We need a slogan that good. How about: “We will serve no wine, before it’s nine (a.m.)?”

    • Rick says:

The only quality control is keeping the old red lead paint on the outside of the barrel. Then again some lead related dementia would help sell more of it.

    • m-fine says:

How come Alex can post links in his comments and when I try that, even a link to another Woodyboater article gets flagged for moderation and never appears? Does this have anything to do with the Ponzei scheme I was trying to push on here last year, or is it the adds for the cheap Chinese KBL clones I keep tying to post?

  7. Alex says:

m-fine, money talks in the DC environs. Send your check to WoodyBoater, c/o Smith Gifford, 106 West Jefferson Street,
Falls Church, VA 22046. Or, if it’s urgent, call (703) 532-5992. Operators standing by accept all major credit cards.

    • m-fine says:

Mail a check? Like Poney Express? Call a phone number, as in I can’t just text it? That is pretty old fashioned stuff!

I did go to their website. It is pretty cool, there is even a link for Lunch that sends and email to a Ms. Mith. I imagine she must be real attractive so I will setup a lunch date when my wife isn’t looking. I did not see the link to send money to buy Woodyboater posting privileges. In fact, the only mention of Woodyboater was on their client list. I gues I will have to Paypal the money to Ms Mith and hope she has some sway around here.

Being from the great white north what about converting this to an Ice shack? :)

    OUCH!

    John in Va.

  10. Mike Unruh says:

I actually ate there about two years ago – not a bad burger. Down the street there is a new Bass Pro Shop – on the ground in front of the store sits an old Penn Yan Swift. Hate to see it sit there when it could be restored or at least displayed inside. Must be an East Peoria thing? Any Asian carp sightings Chad?

  11. Alex says:

Holy Carp, Mike! Could it be one of these suited-up guys is our Chad?

    In PEE-O-RHEA no less.

I’m the one with the spiked bat.
