Just You Wait And See This Covid Basement Find.

RAILS

One thing is for sure, when you are trapped in the house you find all sorts of things that you have been missing. Or forgotten you had. Well today you are not gonna believe what was found in the basement of one of Bob Weavers pals house.

Buffalo is the place, right along the river, and you can tell this is something cool, since there are rails from the basement to the water. AHHHHHHHHH. How cool is that. I have often thought of doing such a thing, and this also tells me its OLD! Like pre war old

Very cool doors

So lets head to the door and see whats inside.

Dam.. It’s locked. Anyone have a key? Anyone?

Rails right up to the door.. Whats could be in there?

While we wait, here is some back story. Apparently the original owner is a 98 year old woman, and has a stack of letters from over the years asking if they wanted to sell the boat. Well. I guess not. But now its gonna have to get out of the basement cause the new owner doesn’t want it. KEY? ANYONE.. DAM IT.

mmmmmm Waiting.. Lets look through the window..

OH GAD!

OH.. OH! Could it be that its been sitting there since the 1960’s AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.. KEY? Anyone have a dam key. Gun? Bazooka?

Hook up a chain to that thing and lets rip the door open! AHHHHHHHH

Hold on.. Got a call from Bob, he said he has to go home and see if he has the key..

Anyone have some WD40? ANYONE?

Ugh, Bob just called and said he is gonna have to have one made, so tune in tomorrow, same WoodyBoater Channel, Same WoodyBoater Time. Hey! What the hell else you got to do!

I do not enjoy a tease! Just give it to me, baby. But what a cool garage door. And what the hell is that contraption?

A swing gantry, sailing clubs use them for launching day sailors in regattas. Looks well made but old as heck and exposed to the Buffalo elements. I’m not sure I’d trust it to lift much more than an outboard skiff.

There better be something good tomorrow or we are going to have to organize an in car protest to shut down Reedville! Luckily that won’t take too many cars.

    I like a good tease.

I’m in the crane and rigging business and you would be surprised at what that little gantry can lift,,,,that is if the part of the pipe that’s in the ground is not rusted away.

I’m starting to think that after reading this that there may have to be an asterisk ‘*’ placed aside yesterday’s 5,000 story count. This really should be ONE story – how many others in the past fall into the same category?

Are you into mysteries now? You have been watching too much Murder she wrote on TV. Are you sure you don’t think you are Jessica Fletcher, and that is Cabot Cove Maine.

It’s gonna be cool – a sedan about 20′ and from the late 20’s early 30’s is my guess, based on the tease photo and the spread of the crane. That would be a really neat way to launch and retrieve a boat at a bulkhead property like that!
