Thayer IV And Mariah Bring The World Of Classic Boating Together Again! Exclusive Pictures That Almost Never Happend!

,

Nancy LaFramboise showing the joy she felt at that magic moment! Back on Thayer IV again.

After two years this was the moment that I dreamed of.. All the players together in one place. The Owners of Thayer IV and Mariah all out on the water. A once in a lifetime event for sure, never to be repeated again. And it almost never happened. It was by chance I was walking by Seth loading his amazing racing runabout  in to the water. I said, hey are you going out, he said pile in.. I thought, hey, never been in the back of a race boat.. Then I looked over..

It all looked good until the motor started.. WHAT? I had to take two advil after the run..

Both Thayer IV and Mariah were about to head out as well. The light SUCKED but it was a chance to get in action shots.. As we motored out two things struck me.. One, I was going to go deaf, and I was 1 inch above the water so shots through a wake were not going to happen..

And the other was one of the most wonderful things anyone can imagine. All the people involved in the history of Thayer IV and Mariah were out on the water together. Nancy the original owner that kept the boats original, and Pat Curtin the Film Coordinator in Thayer IV and Seth the Savior of the boats Driving Absolute..

Pat Curtin in light Blue, Nancy LaFramboise in yellow, Wayne Mocsfield at the helm having way to much fun. That's Paul LaFramboise next to Wayne in the shot gun seat.

Dear god. There I was with only my iPhone in the back of a perfect race boat in horrible light. NOTHING was going to stop me from getting the shot. Even if I had to stand on my head under full speed..

It looks insane, but to get the shots there was no place to go but forward. Thats me pointing at the boats to get together. Seth Driving and Renee wondering if I was going to die, or worse scratch the boat.

To see those two folks driving Thayer IV was a dream come true. The most amazing thing is that like any star, the second the camera was pulled out, both boats perked up.. All day long Mariah and Thayer IV were out on the water giving rides to folks. Wayne Mocsfield at the helm most of the day and Tommy from Katz’s driving Mariah..

More fun out on the water.

The history all packed into those two boats is just breath taking. Even more exciting is that they are out on the water, engaging new people into the hobby like they did 30 years ago. Thanks to Seth Katz at Katz’s Marina the world now has Thayer IV and Mariah for years to come and enjoy.

This is just so cool! Just seeing the two boats on the water again, together was very moving. I had the pleasure of going for a ride on Mariah with Pat & Nancy in the back seat. Her smile said it all!

They look great!  I’m surprised that with all the interest in getting the 2 of them there that a photo shoot hadn’t been planned.

Nice work.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been to of had the whole family there including 1802, the canoe and the fishing boat.  That would have been a great shot to present to Mr. Curtin.

Still looking for the bikini clad Jane Fonda or body “stand-in” pictures to grace Thayer IV.  Good God, where’s the fishing poles and Walter.

floyd, there were a few appropriate Chelsea “stand-ins” roaming the show.  Alas, none was bikini clad.

Mariah and Thayer very nice. It is nice that Nancy could be there and get closure. A beautiful boat can help to smooth the waters.

Now that Lake Dora is over, what is next for the Thayer IV and Mariah? Are they scheduled to be at more future boat shows? Last question– who is the present owner of these two fantastic boats? What a super story.

The owner is Seth Katz of Katzs Marina fame. Yes they will be at future shows. I know for sure they will be in Skinatlis? Spelling butcher job.. We are working on the schedule this week and next.. They are a national treasure for sure
