Thanks to fellow Woody Boater Chad Durren, we are once again Live-ish from the 26th Annual Chris-Craft Plant Jamboree “Where It All Began” in Algonac, Michigan. This year’s event features the popular Lyman boats as the Marque Class, and the Lyman’s have come out in full force for the show. So to honor the marque, we had decided to do an “All Lyman” pictoral report here at Woody Boater.
“Just One More” (shown above and below) is a 1965 28′ Lyman Sportsman powered by Twin 220 HP Grey Marine V-8’s owned by Donald & Pat Hall from Harrison Township, MI. This is one beautiful boat!
Kevin Fisher from Port Huron, MI brought over his spacious 1971 30′ Lyman Sportsman “Kevin’s Heaven” powered by Twin Chrysler V-8’s. Looks like a great place to check out what’s happening on the Internet – Maybe he’s reading about himself on Woody Boater?
“Frequent Flyer” is a big 1968 30′ Lyman Islander owned by Peter & Ellen Durand, featured on this year’s boat show poster by the Michigan Chapter ACBS. Very nice example of a classic Lyman, and look it has a side steer set up too.
Stay tuned for another Live-ish update from the 2011 Algonac Boat Show hosted by the Michigan Chapter ACBS, which will feature many of the other antique & classic marques that were in attendence at this years big show.
Story Update – Fellow Woody Boater Jon was hoping that we would include a shot of his Classic Lyman that he and his wife brought to Algonac last weekend. Today our intrepid Roving Reporter / Photographer Chad was able to locate a shot of Jon’s Lyman with the gaggle of Lymans at Algonac… This is the best we could do Jon… Enjoy and thanks for tuning in to Woody Boater! – Chad & Texx
