We are clearly now in the epicenter of the OCD storm at Katz’s marina. Missing parts from Thayer IV have been located and rushed to the chrome shop and the Chrome process was done in ONE DAY!. When we found the boats we never noticed that there were some missing small fender cleats and bimini top brackets. The holes were there, but the parts had disappeared over the years. Either way, they were missing.. In Seth’s quest for detail they have located the cleats and the Bimini top brackets yesterday. Soon to find there place on the boat just like in the picture.. Here are the CSI Images.
In the above image from the barn find you can see that the cleats and top holder were missing. This wasn’t noticed by any of us or the over 200 commenters in the peanut gallery. Now Thayer IV U22-1460 is getting all her hardware back in place. here is the latest update from today.. If you sniff the screen you can still smell the varnish!
Stay tuned for Mariah’s Lettering tomorrow !
ARRRGH!
That’s one nifty restoration you’ve got going there, Seth! The lettering is fabulous!!! Makes my woody teeth chatter and my mouth drool, it’s so sweeeeet!

Dont you dare!

Boats look great! OGP movie is required viewing at least annually. This movie is what restarted it all for me when it comes to IB boats.
John Rothert
Wow, that is one nice looking job…..I am varnishing a Whirlwind and my work looks like I did it blindfolded next to that…..
Oh well….I will just “go boating”…..
Two weeks to Dora!

Now for the last OCD/OGP issue — there has been NO mention yet of the life jacket hooks/life jackets on the front seat backs.
This should be good for 2 days of panic and discussions.
Dick Dow
Not to mention the lifering hook on the port side behind the seat and the boat cover support “docks” on the top ceiling boards… heh, heh…
Jack Schneiberg
So, have you also found the boy with the Sh_t eating grin on his face, and is he going to run the boat around Lake Dora sitting on the seat back?
matt
Yes we found the boy and he is booked the weekend of Dora. Great Guy.
