Sorry for the loss of the past couple stories. We have had to change servers and providers because of growth and poor customer suppoert. You may have noticed a glitch in service last weekend while we were in Algonac.  Finally on Thursday we found a new web host that could handle the size of the site and future growth. The data transfer took all weekend and the stories that were over the weekend are lost. Texx and I knew this might happen, and we have held back on any juicy stories. Things appear to be set now, and we apologize for.. WAIT, this thing is free, hey! ya get what ya pay for.. Not like any of us are not used to fixing things… We will resume regular meaningless stories in the AM..

Sever upgrades. Sounds like the kind of fun activity everyone wants to do on those nice summer weekends.

Thanks for your efforts to keep us entertained.

Seem like an international conglomerate like WoodyBoater would have multiple backup systems. So in the interest of all of us, here are some suggestions to get us the stories when the server is down again.

1- Skywriting, though the pictures might be hard to do.
2- Leaflet dropping from aircraft. We did it in Germany, Italy and France and we won the war so it must work.
    3- Carrier pigeon
    4- Phone chain
5- Personal phone calls. Just split the list between yourself and Texx.
6- Drive through the streets with loud speakers on the roof like the BluesMobile.

There you go that’s 5 right there (6 now, I just added another) and that’s after a couple of margaritas.

7- Have gathering points on the interstate system where WoodyBoater would appear on the overhead electronic signs. We must have a hacker in the community (no smarta$$ not the boat).

8- Secretly embed WoodyBoater into advertising so that only the community could decipher it.

9- Take WoodyBoater to public access radio or better yet public access TV as a call in show. Ok, well some days if the topic is not very good it could be a short show, but I’ll call in 1st to get things rolling. Unless it is about technical stuff, or lapstrakes then I’m gone.

Dig this. 1st guest is Joe Martell, back-lit behind a screen and with his voice changed. Could even be Texx pretending to be Joe, nobody would know. Texx could be someone different each day remotely broadcast from somewhere in the wilds of Canada, eh.

just went back and re-read all of rick’s rantings…

          no, that’s funny, right here!

Matt, Don`t fix a thing. I just ordered a ton of swag from the WOODYBOATER ONLINE STORE. I went to pay for it using paypal as requested, and viola! It was FREE!

    MANY MAHALOS!

And Texx is really doing all of this highly technical stuff from the saddle of his Harley. I’m impressed!

Are things still FUBAR? Safari on my iPhone can’t load the page due to too many redirects, but Chrome on the phone gets me here. The Windows version of Chrome on my laptop got me to a different July 3rd article this morning, but IE on my work machine looks a lot like Chrome on the iPhone.

I think all the heat in Virginia might have cooked a few too many circuits and Texx is likely having way too much fun in comfortably cool Hessel to even notice our plight.

No stories from last Friday back should be lost. Only two stories from this weekend. Scroll down and hit the tab at the bottom of the stories that say more stories
