This is my custom card from last year. Below i will take you through the process. Its eeezy peezy

It aint Christmas or your birthday, NOPE! It’s not July 4th or any other official holiday, but yet, this one day could effect the rest of your year and your passion for Woody Boats. Dear god man, it’s Valentines Day on Thursday! The big chess play day of the year. What and how you prepare for Valentines Day, can set the tone for your real true love. And no, I am not going to spell it out. OTHERS ARE READING! Just say’n….. Now, this is the 5th year ..I think, Maybe 4th year we have done the official Woody boater lend you a hand valentines Day Card story. We do it before the big day so you have some time to prepare. PREPERATION IS EVERYTHING!

Here is the original card I used for the card for last year. All I did was strip in our pitures, printed the sucker. And bam! 3 months later I got a cool vintage whaler! Its like magic!

Anyone can go buy a lame card. trust me, a home made anything works magic. So we hunt all year long for specail classic boat cards.. OK, not all year… OK maybe I just looked on ebay and other places yesterday. But my hearts in the right place, and we do have goodies from previous years. And a track record.. As Mike Mayer of Lake Oswego Boat Co said. “It worked like magic, I can come home spelling like varnish and she is happy to see me.” Alex Watson says, “I tried it and I got an exhaust pipe for Christmas that same year, Wow, thanks Woody Boater”  Dennis Ryan of Antique Boat Center says.” It must work, we sell more boats after Valentines Day then before” Herb Hall from Sierra Boat Company swears by these home made cards. ” We see an increase of bottom jobs come in, after valentines day” Seth Katz of Katz’s Marina, “We guarantee it will work..” Carla from Hagerty Marine says, ” Don’t think of it as a card, but more like insurance for that rainy day, that you need a new top and wasn’t able to get a cover because you gave your spouse a lame store bought card”  And finally Jen from St Lawrence Restoration says. “You want to buy Flying Cloud? Make a card. It’s your only chance!” So see, these cards are proven winners, done right, you will be handing over a couple hours worth of work like you did in grade school, and thus opening up the freedom that comes from spousal support. Note, do not try making your own card with any other image that contains anything like a camper, or hunting rifle. It will have no effect on your boating and you will “appear” selfish. the boat thing is perfect. Trust us, We have years of experience t prove it. Did you all see Alex Watsons dock this week, ya think those boats just show up.. That’s an endless game of chess going on in that house. Here are some cards for you to us. Just click and print. You do the rest.

Here is a great one for the dog lover in your life. I cleaned up the hull so you can write in your or own name of the boat. Like SS, Puppy Love, Or I am heat for you! Something like that.. KINDA!

Been there done that. Will do it again. It Works. She likes it. And I am not even trying to get another boat. Just building up capital reserve. Thanks.

Be careful which card you use because apparently my only option is a dingy or and anchor 🙁

Last year I printed and cut out. I handed it to her, she looked at it, looked at me, looked at it, looked at me and said, Thanks???? looked at me like I was crazy. I put on the fridge.
    Did not work for me.
    Not this year.

mmmmm yaaaaaah, its all in the details, home made cards are an art form Did you add anything to it. Like your pictures, candy bars? Its a fine line. What happened to you was called the “Yawn effect” it happens when all you do is print something. Its all about the effort put into it. I can only hand you the ingredients, you have to make the cake.

If you’re in deep doo doo, may I suggest you buy your spouse the Pink Roan Tommy Mertaugh just restored at Classic and Antique Boats.

    It’s pink. For Valentines. Purrrrfect.

What better excuse can you find to buy another boat mid-February? Maybe she’ll be fooled into thinking your purchase is an outpouring of unbridled love. But, if not, you’ll still have the boat.

    Heh heh heh.

I believe I like the artistic talent and photoshop skills to make this work.

C’mon, Tom….you get out of it what you put into it. First, you’ve got to go to an art store and get those scissors that cut with the funky edge, not your precision straight cut kind. The weird cut line just screams “time, thought and effort”. Heck, you can even take the card into the store, cut it out there and leave without the scissors.

Then write something like “Is this our 2nd Valentines day together or our 32nd? It sure has been fun spending the last 30 years with you….” Finally, make eye contact when you give her the card and try not to laugh. This stuff works Tom…believe me!

So, what kind of boat do you think you’re gonna get this year?

Matt, if you used the Hickman Sea Sled card no wonder you got the Whaler… !

Better do these things right or the spouse will send out a song in your honor – “The Dinghy Song” … (Google it)

    🙂

Last year I took no chances, I printed them all out, put them all around the house AND gave her Godiva. Once she was in a sugar coma I made reservations for Algonac.

There must have been stock photos of boats artists use because what artist would know what the hell a Hickman sea sled was let alone draw one and that’s a very accurate caricature if there was one.
