A true sign of the Lake Dora joy ahead is the fist water test at Katzs Marina. We invented a term for this last year. called “Swell Time”, the first time in the water for the year. Of course this barrel does not need swelling with its new 5200 bottom.

This year the wonderful Rare Barrel Back that got a new bottom and finish all winter is going to make it to Lake Dora for all of us to drool over it. Only this year, please don’t drool, cough, sneeze, or maybe breathe around it. Cause this baby is SICK! Sick as in cool, not sick as in sick. So it’s okay. Just bask in the varnish! Enjoy!

She needs to be in my living room as a coffee table but not for setting drinks on, just to ogle. I hope Katz has crowd control stanchions set up around her at Tavares ’cause she’s too perfect to let anyone get finger prints on that beautiful varnish. No one with jewelry, belt buckles, or anything other than crushed velvet clothing need to approach this boat if it were mine.
