You may wonder why we are so moved here in Woodyboaterville to do a story on Slim, since there is no real connection to classic boats. It’s simple. Slim was the the man! Period. I loved his music and what he stood for. He owned his sound and look. And for that alone we salute Slim and the smiles his music brought to us. From his time on the charts, to his music scarring the martians away. Slim stayed true to his brand. We here at Woody boater will miss Slim! For those of you that have no real music apreciation. We give you a little Slim. Take it away Slim. And so long!
Dang, thats pure gold!

Learned about Slim from Dr. Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap (who apparently had a large Slim Whitman collection)….

Hokey. Maybe. But certainly part of the great big unmatched American musical tapestry. And each part, no matter how small, makes that tapestry the richer.

The one, the only. Dang, this is a sad day. In a world of truly one of a kind, totally unique, Slim made quite a statement.
