Ken Furrers Mom in 1948!
Kens Grandmother… OK this is just strange. Hot Grandmas posing! Dang! Your family ROCKS Ken! ROCKS!
And now back to the 80’s….
From Scott Dunsmoor – Okay – I’m in – but the comments regarding the tall socks on Chad Durren have nothing on the fine cut-off T-shirt that I am sporting – similar Adidas shorts thou. Imagine wearing this outfit on the day that you are going to take pride ownership of your dear departed Grandfather’s 1958 Shepherd HT – 22′. The year was 1983, 18yrs old, and after trying to sell the boat for 4 years following my Grandfather Andy Thomson passing, my Grandmother, Catherine, asked me if I wanted the boat. And so the Woodyboater bug was planted and I have been bleeding varnish ever since. Joined ACBS-Toronto the next summer when the Summer Boat Show was in downtown Toronto at Pier 4 and the theme of the show was Shepherd Reunion – there was no looking back after that. I am now the VP and Membership Director. Scott Dunsmoor
And another classic from the Menzelss -The original 1966 Century my dad bought new and I had until 1975. then sold. I looked for it for the last few years could not find the boat but found a dullicate in Fort worth last august which I now have. It was at Mt Dora this year.
Menzels Century again
One more from the Menzel family!
From Graeme Beattie – Another family boat. This is the Norma. A 28′ Dowset built in Portland Ontario owned by my Great Uncle W.T. Frost. Very similar to the other Frost boat, the Frowildo II. Picture taken just off the Norma Lodge on Big Rideau Lake 1927. You can see the old Rideau Ferry swing bridge in the background. Engine is unknown.
And this grainy shot from Tim Salt. We tried to find the picture in there Tim..- ” This is the best old pic I have of the Shady Lady. It was taken someplace in the Sacto Delta area in the late 50’s. I believe that is Perter Chesebrough’s mother in the pic. I pulled it form the Water Wonderland article that appeared not long after he had the boat restored in the late 90’s.”
From fellow Woody Boater Floyde R. Turbo! What could possibly go wrong here!
“Somewhere I have a full picture but until then just a partial of my ’66 Westco hull v drive with 454 Chev bored .030 balanced and blueprinted, with Reed & Reed flat tappet cam, Edelbrock TR2X tunnel ram manifold, twin Holley 650 cfm carbs, velocity stacks, Vertex magneto, Casale v-drive with 27% overdrive (straight drive – point and shoot), Stellings & Stellings 2 blade race prop, Glenwood over the transom exhaust, Nicson manifolds, and some adult beverages. circa 1975.”
Stay tuned for more fun.. The hits keep getting better and better!
