Thanks to Fellow Woody Boater Marten Anderson and Matt Bryne, we are able to get t=you right at the docks of the 2013 Lake Geneva Lake show. No real captions which always adds to the fun. So just imagine you are walking through the show and know nothing.. For the record, thats every show for me. I just stare and drool. Like my first date with Beth Meyer. Take it away Martin and Mr Byrne.

now this is a show! We love stuff like this. Its original for sure. Nice patina.. needs a refresh, ran when it was backed intot the boat house.

Yup, thats an engine. A Nice engine. Did you know there is a difference between a Motor and an engine? Two different things.. Rally.

3 carbs.. Yup, thats three carbs alright. 3 of them, sucking and spitting. But when it all runs right, pure heaven, and cool as heck to look at in a picture on Woody Boater and a show.

Woah, that is some great picture taking with some fine examples of woody boatness as the subject. Great show with alot of variety. I really enjoy the several shots of different lapstrakes. They Rule.

The Hydro in the second picture is owned by Mark Christensen and is way cool. Mark is hoping to have it restored for next years show. It has a Jeep willy engine in it. Pink Hour is owned my Peter Mueller. The engine is so clean you could chicken on a stick off of it.

    • Sam H

And might I say Mark’s girlfriend Emily is not only encouraging the restoration of her familys Hydro – she will be doing some of the work!

This year we start a new tradition on the boat parade. We added a Best Fly By award. This years winner was Al Bosworth. The pictures say it all…..

This awesome Indian was also in the parking lot. That’s a tire-powered siren on the sidecar. Boat fenders in the sidecar, too.

This awesome Indian was also in the parking lot. That’s a tire-powered siren just ahead of the sidecar tire. Boat fenders inside the sidecar, too.

That Pink Hour engine is absolutely insane. Just stunning.

And I love the flying boat in Matt B’s post! Atta boy Al!

Pink Hour used to live in California and one year at the Tahoe Concours as a result of all of the polished brass hardware which reflected so much sun, it burned a hole in the upholstery. True story!

    • Peter Mueller

Eight weeks ago we burnt a hole on the captains seat while the boat was being inspected for invasive species at the inspection station in Homewood, Ca. This does not happen when the boat is moving.-only in a dead calm or on the parked trailer.

The radically designed fiberglass boat above is owned by Bill Anderson from the Chicago area. “Blu-by-U” as it’s called, is a rare 1959 South Seas Samoan runabout c/w (period correct) twin 100 HP Merc’s.

Bill has a large collection of rare and unusual fiberglass boats from the 50’s & 60’s.

Thanks for the good comments about my boat,I like showing on the trailer so it can be seen in the complete set up.It is not a trailer queen,it is 50 MPH at 5200rpm, but it is like riding in your living room couch,I couldn’t stay sunday had to tend to alittle work,,This pic is a red neck biminty top Thanks to all and Matt I am not smart enough to remember how to post Thanks Bill I do have 4-5 wood boats in the collection

That mysterious white sided gentleman’s racer described as “Its cool, its old, and it has a small bow number” is in fact Antoinette V” a 1929 26′ Kramer Boat Company Product that was recently resurrected by Morin Boat Works of Bay City Michigan for owners John and Amy Zea .

Antoinette’s six cylinder 225 hp Scripps engine was also caught in one of the mystery photos and having seen the boat and its engine up close and personal at Gravenhurst this summer I can attest that they are a breathtaking duo!

Additional shots of Antoinette V can be found in my previous WB article “Raceboat Fever Draws Massive Crowds To Gravenhurst, Ontario – Part 2”

The white Express shown above is a copy of the 26ft CC Express made by a company that the name escapes me. There is one on a small island on the Flats in Lake St Clair. It is made out of metal, and only a few survive; very sought after by those who are in the “know”

    • Grant Stanfield

The white express was the Permacraft, a beautiful early fiberglass cruiser modeled after the CC Red & White. The pic of the mahogany utility with the permanent cabin top (that had a Permacraft caption) is actually a newly-restored and re-powered 1937 CC 21′ Deluxe Utility from Norton Boat Works; she’s on the market in Green Lake, WI.

    Hi guys,
CHLOE is the PERMACRAFT at the Lake Geneva boat show, you have the info under the wrong photo.

    Thank you!
Write a note to me if you want any more information about our boat!

      Hi
I’m looking at a 1956 Perma Craft 26′ like yours. Any info I should know when looking it over?
