Winterized the boats in Oklahoma in mid October, beautiful weather and few cold nights. This one little tree was the only spot of color I could find on my last run.

My last journey with M/Y Zorina took place the last weekend in september already, but what a weekend that was! Blistering sunshine and warm enough during the day to just have a T-shirt on! In the evening we even took a dip in the sea (after a hot sauna bath…) that still held 16 degrees celsius..
    😉

Since our boats have been put away since early September, our last gasp involved a 17 hour drive south to Georgetown SC.

After numerous setbacks this year (leaking gas tank, worn shaft, cold June, etc.) I was able to run BOOMER one last time and it was perfect. Crisp clear air, sun, flat water, smooth motoring in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

If I’d known about this earlier, I’d have taken pics! Aristocraft was put away after a breezy ride the weekend before. Pulled my husband on one last ski run with the Malibu Saturday, before tucking it in for the winter. About 55 degrees and a bit of wind chop, but the only ones on Craig’s Creek Lake, KY.

One more time… I was chasing summer but looking back I saw fall coming on strong. But then again, Spring can’t be far behind can it?

Sadly, I had to winterize in the garage this year. Weather was lousy on my Last Gasp weekend. Kids didn’t seem to mind.

Another great year, new friends and memories made, and saved a couple more woody’s to boot… you can’t beat that.
Bring it on winter so I can get a little rest!
I hope everyone had a great year.

Sadly we had to pull out a few 3 weeks ago now. First season with the new old boat has come to and end. Shes winterized and now we are getting to work on her once again.

I must say this year’s “last Gasp” was far different experience from last year. Although it was 3 or so weeks ago we had a beautiful family day on the calm waters of Lake Muskoka with nary a soul in sight.

But then, Similar to last year we pulled the drive (for different reasons). We just got “Sea-J” all back together and winterized this past Thursday…and tucked her away today as the snow started to fall. Timing.

First season with the boat it had 250hrs on it after almost 20years now it has 350hrs on it. we got a new gas tank, hit 2 dead heads so 2 props lost, lost flag and pole, it was a fun year but not with out its glitches, last run in a bit of rain but that did not stop us. boats now in the shop for a little TLC,new shaft and rest, for both of us.

Since Lake Hopatcong was lowered 60″ this year for a planned 5yr drawdown, my last gasp in our boat was in Sept. This photo is from last year. My final ride was a chance to get behind the wheel of “Finito” Seth Katz’s 21′ Cobra.

  15. CJP

Hey is that Ted Turner in the header shot? Well who ever he is, that’s one pretty ride he’s sitting in. As to Last Gap shots, I’m afraid I’ve put the little baby away; I‘ll have to live vicariously through the great photos of this story thread.

Last Gasp and First Launch, all on the same beautiful fall day on Table Rock Lake. ‘Kathleen’ was relaunched this afternoon following a 3-year restoration effort that was interrupted only slightly by Heartland Chapter hosting activities during the ACBS Table Rock 2012 event. Oh, but wait. If the weather patterns of recent years in these Ozark Mountains hold true, this may not be her Last Gasp of the year after all!

    • WoodyGal

WOW! First launch, last gasp. Great to see Kathleen in the water. She is gorgeous……

  17. MikeM

I spent most of the afternoon waiting for Gar to show up so we could race the train…..great day on the lake with my son. Burger, beer and boat ride. I’m now ready for winter…..
