As they extract the roof parts and walls, all work had to stop on extracting boats for a while. The little model 99 is actually part of the support of the wall. I love that little sucker more and more. She has taken a beating for sure, dropping an entire floor still on her cradle. But there she is..

I would like to nominate this boat as woodyboat of the year!

actually, to me it looks relatively unscathed, under the circumstances. I was expecting something completely crushed. Fortunate indeed on that one. Hope for more happy discoveries.

Isn’t she a Chris Craft ?…What did you expect ? They made those boat with stong backs and hearts.

sadly as the sun is setting here on lake Hopatcong, the roof is still coming off. Tomorrow we are braced for the sad news. Up til now, the easy boats have all been removed. Things are marching along because in two days…you guessed it. SNOW!
Troy
Matt you should totally own that 99!

jeez it makes me feel ill. It seems that no matter where you live nature serves you up something dangerous. Earthquakes are our constant companion back home in NZ, here in Florida its lightening strike season Im told, up in NJ the damn snow can wreck your livelihood and squash your boat. What a bitch.

Matt…you should buy that boat, have Seth restore it for Tavares and name it “Survivor”.
As to the strength of these old boats….although seemingly lightly built, they were brilliantly designed so that every piece of wood works in harmony with another to make a beautiful and strong structure. The sum of the parts…….

didn’t even break the windshield.

… without doubt that little ’99’ should be named “Timex”.
