Oreo, out Woody Barking! She loves the boat and loves Woody boating.

This weekend, we remember all our fallen soldiers in wars past and present. We also try and forget another winter. A rather brutal one I might add. It’s funny, one great day on the water and you can forget the countless snow storms and frozen pipes.. I had not been able to go boating until yesterday for all sorts of reasons.

Our 24 Sportsman, had been sitting in the barn for a while and previously up at Katzs Marina getting part of her annual refresh and touch up from all my oops moments last summer. Well, around 9AM were got her into the water. A couple cranks and she lit up like she had been waiting as long as I had to go boating. That monster van Ness big block just purred like a tiger all day. We went through an entire tank of fuel. We did let her soak up though until around 1PM and got home around 7. The weather was PERFECT here in Reedville VA. No humidity, jelly fish or wind. 75 degrees. It just does not get better. The boatress even decided it was time for a swim with Oreo.

Up on Miller Creek, it's calm and perfect swimming!

I don’t think Oreo had set out for a swim. But that’s the way it goes sometimes. I hope all your weekends boating time was a wonderful as ours. Share with us in the comment section! Keep the pics under 1 mg or they wont load!

I see Oreo on the covering board,is already contributing to your fall trip to Katz. I wonder if Betty will let me get away with shrink wrapping Pearl’s paws before she gets aboard??

    Ahh probly not. Oh well.

We are flying the colors at the cottage today to honor all of our fallen heroes.

Put our new (to us) XK19 in the water Saturday. Had fun with family, friends, and neighbors on Sunday. On Memorial Day, it sits quietly under the Stars & Stripes.

Happy Memorial Day and our heartfelt thanks to all those who have served and are still serving to give us this freedom.

We thought it would be appropriate to run the Liberty on Memorial Day.

I think I can see the zippers in the header. Nice photos.

Where’s the sound track on that Liberty, very appropriate for a roll out on Memorial Day.

The Greavette is, however, not ready for prime time. Maybe a week or two, needing shaft, prop, rudder, detent for shift to velvet drive and morse cabling installation. And then engine break in, systems check, and then splash, we’re in.

Floyd nice boat, love the shape of that top. Saw one like that on a 1935 Shepherd not to long ago. It had two SS tubes running from the windshield back to a bracket on the stern and the top slid along the tubes.

Hope all WoodyBoaters enjoyed the holiday weekend to the fullest!

Here’s a PT to honor our American heroes…this one happens to be a Huckins.

Lol, should have been “1 Mb” instead of mg for 1 megabyte. Gary’s got an eye for detail.

Tx Phillip – tried to talk owner into a “buff” colored top to be less prominent but no dice.

Nice to read the respect you all have for the sons and daughters who protect you and us for that matter. We here have ANZAC Day which we commemorate with similar respect and honour and a national holiday.
It begins with a dawn service across the country and the words that every school child knows. ” They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”
Hope you all had a peaceful day.
