Not the boat we were on, but one of the few out at our fishing spot. He beat us there. Note the THREE 250 hp engines. Yeaoch!

This weekend had a double whammy of fun down in Reedville Va. As you know we picked up twin Hemis and then on Sunday Morning around 530 AM went Rock fishing out on the Chesapeake Bay.. Thanks to pal Jim Scott who purchased the charter at a charity auction and capt Jeff Adams of Adams Fishing  we spent the first part of Sunday bringing in our limit of 18 fish in quick fashion.

Heading out of Reedville VA by the "Stack" a local monument for all the fishing done in the area. Reedville is the second largest fishing port in the US.

The trip was special because on board was the Boatress, Becky Haynie , Jimmy, and Patrick, and one of the last trips on Capt Woody’s Charter service, since he just sold Jeff this amazing Wood locally built 48 ft boat. Built by local George Butler back in 1982 this boat is beautiful, and smooth as butta on the wata. Unfortuntaly I was unable to jump in the water and take a shot of the boat. But she had a very nice wood cabin with heat! HEAT!

Looks like you and the crew had fun Fishin’ for Rock Fish on Sunday. Also great to see my friend Jimmy, I know he loves being out on the water (Salty Dog).

But this morning I have to interrupt this story to say:

Ha Ha – Big Snow Storm in Buffalo, NY. These shots just in of m-fine out with his snow-blower.

      • Texx

He got lost after offering to snow-blow the neighbors driveway, and that’s the last we heard from him…

Now that looks like a great time. Especially when the girls go along to show you how it’s done. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

LOL, that ain’t me! Well, not yet! We only got a dusting last night in Rochester. That is the joy of lake effect snow in Western NY. A wind shift of a few degrees can be the difference between a foot or more in on place and nothing at all a few miles away.

Looks like a good time out on the Bay!

Now I want to see a story about you going fishing with Big Balls Dave.

I Dare Ya, Double Dog Dare Ya!

Nothing like the smell of fish on a wooden charter boat, gotta love it. It just impregnates the entire vessel. When you said rockfish I assumed you meant tog. Those are baby stripers you’re catching. Here we can keep 1 at 28″ and 1 over 40″. At least until next year. You southerners are funny. I guess they’re ice fishing noth of here for the rest of the season. Good thing M-Fine has his hat on to keep him warm.

Captn Jeff Adams is an old friend and SERIOUS fish finding native son! I recall when his son was born…how time flies…bet he will be a great fisherman like his dad. I was on the bay that day as well….going tomorrow…but what is this fishing stuff? they have fish at McDonalds……go boating!
If George Butler built that boat…I need not pictures to tell me it is strong and worthy!
    good story…

Beautiful sunrise, heated wooden boat, lotsa Stripers & a naked man in the snow! What a perfect day!

Enjoyed today’s story from my deer stand while watching the squirrels, and no deer in sight. Looks like it was a fun day on the bay. Thanks for sharing your fun adventure.

Unlike Woodygal, I could have done without the shot of the guy blowing snow (or something) in his birthday suit.

    Wonderful photography Matt

At first glance I thought I was looking at pics from a recent Wooden Boat Mag article that featured the Smith Island fishery. Wrong side of the bay I guess but similar topic

    Great work!

What a great looking day! Thanks for the pictures, looks like all had fun and plenty of smiles going around. Warms my soul to see people enjoying the water. Don’t think I like that triple motor boat to much. And I bet he spent more time at the fuel pumps that y’all.
Again thanks for the photos I got those was there a video also if so my Al Gore internet is crashing!

Matt…thanks to you and the gang for a great trip! I enjoyed having you and talking about the wooden deadrise boats. It’s obvious you were more interested in the boat then you were with the fish. I’m not used to that but it was a nice change of pace for me. Thanks again and I’d really like for you to come check out the improvements I will be making come spring.
