Here she is fresh from her home since 1948 on lake winnapasaki! One family, and amazing with a nice 5200 bottom and lots and lots of patina! She is a 1948 chris craft 25 sportsman with a W engine and fun odd custom features we will feature later.

As you all know this is my dream boat of all time and we were able to come to a deal with the family. We are headed home through Katzs marina to have a cover made and take her through the detail machine! Thanks for enjoying the drama today. Now back to Tahoe!

Fantabulous. I love it when a plan comes together. The boat is happy too.

Is this same one that you featured a short while back on the eBay listings day? Estate sale… It looks well cared for and is certainly a boat to be proud of!! Congrats!!

    Matt,,

You should of held out for one with twin engines, LOL.
Just kidding, she looks about as beautiful and stately as a woody can get. Congratulations! It is also great to have all of the history of the boat from the original owning family. How about some more photos.

i doubt you will let it sit long enough this month to cover it!

    videos please of the launch!

Is the shifter on the steering column original? I have never seen one like that on a Chris Craft.

    hmmmmmm

This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

same window sticker on starboard side window.

    hmmmmmmmm.

Yes it’s the same boat featured. Yes that’s the original key. The boat is a very well. Ares for survivor and the bottom looks brand new. A wonderful family and well loved boat. And her name will be “Suzanne”

LOVE YOUR CHOICE, MATT…these are gorgeous, gorgeous boats!

I love that you were able to land a one-family boat that’s not only got a fresh bottom but lots of patina…it’s a growing trend I hope. My own boat is a patina queen…and even though I still apologize to boat-show crowds for her appearance, I get lots of love for keeping it REAL. That feels nice!

Blessings for fair winds and following seas…enjoy SUZANNE fully with your whole family. I’m glad you’ve achieved your WoodyBoater ‘nirvana’…it’s gratifying to be jealous of no other.

Wow, leave WoodyBoaterville for the day, and all kinds of stuff happens! Congratulations on Suzanne! (name reminds me of a mid-80s Journey song)

Do your best to catch up to Alex when it comes to giving rides and tours in your 25SP. They are smooth-riding boats that make people happy to be out and afloat.

Great score, they’re only original once and I can just smell that original bilge from that cold Winnepesauki water. And that W, love the big 6….jealous

  11. Alex

Christen her with beer and pizza.

In all seriousness, hearty congrats! Welcome to nirvana. These are fantastic boats.

Even if she’s got issues, she’s worth it, ’cause she’s a 25 freakin’ SP! Go ahead. Pinch yourself. She’s yours! A wooden supermodel.

I expect Frechette will weigh in when the news reaches him. He, too, is a raving fan.

We’ll all see her at Dora 2016, right?

    Right.

  12. Ronald

Congratulations,I also love the 25 sportsman. What is that on the left side of the steering wheel? Does it have a Chris O Matic transmission?

  13. Grant Stanfield

Here’s a local Green Lake, WI 25′ Sportsman…the 1946 ‘Chieftain’ snapped by Jim Koepnick during an A-Scow regatta here in June. Sweet boat that the owner says he paid $2500 to buy her 30 years ago…what a body!

So, Matt: did you sleep aboard SUZANNE last night in the driveway, assuming you got any sleep at all?

(Who could blame you…I’d do it too!)

Once you get the hull card it might turn out to be a 1949 model year. The 48’s still had a wood dash. The 49’s went to a dash that looks similar to the 20′ custom dash. The 49 also have a hatch in the front deck like the U22 do. But it’s an excellent find especially since the bottom has already been done.

Great new boat Matt. Should we expect another travelogue entry later this season? Maybe a short run from Reedville to the Solomons Maritime Museum?
