Vintage Life Jacket gift from the boatress

We have never spent a Christmas in a warm area, but this year we enjoyed a wonderful walk on the beach on longboat Key and just basked in the 85 degree warmth. Christmas felt like it was a million months away. And I suppose today, the day after Christmas it is. The boatress and I had a deal. NO GIFTS!

Also my son made a fun work of art of the the Woody Boater life. His style of art is the hot deal these days. Like a Tattoo thing, All the objects tell a story.

What is the meaning of the lightning bolt? I usually try to avoid those when boating.

Those life jackets definitely don’t go with Wecatchem. I guess you are going to need another boat.

I have no idea what that lighting bolt means? Ha! It’s art and adds drama? The Internet? And yes we always need another boat. Maybe a fun late 60s something?

You definitely need a fun and colorful late 60’s boat. I am thinking that is what the Boatress was trying to tell you when she gave you the life jackets.

Nothing better than SWFL for Christmas, 86 and sunny. Sunsets are great and the beer is cold! Picture is at Bonita Beach. Fl.

I understand why the boatress couldn’t pass up the life jackets, they are very cool vintage! Did I see a WOOHOO! penant in the lifestyle art? Great idea! It could be made as a giant stern Riva like flag or a bow pennant!

In Jacksonville for Christmas and 85 degrees here. Found this cool Chris Craft banner from a local “out of business” dealer. Will be on ebay shortly……

You sure that is a one legged bird…Never understood why but the the shorebirds up in N. Florida tend to stand on one leg. The Longboat Key beach looks just like I remember it…We watched some off shore races from there several years ago. Wonder if you’ll get to go “shelling” at nearby Sanibel Island or get as far South as Marco Island ? Or will you head East for the Boathouse at Disney and a visit with Terry Fiest?…So much to do…so little time.

We thought the same thing, but this poor little fellow hopped around on that leg. Even took off on one leg.

Now you know how everyday, including Christmas, is for us on the east coast of Florida. LOVE IT!!!!!!

If the Brady Bunch ever went boating, those would be their life jackets. Groovy.

Most people stuff the life jackets under the seats or in a bag/container never to be seen, but these will need to be displayed prominently to be enjoyed. Did you brave the water????

Great LJ’s – Too bad I didn’t have something like that at the Tollycraft Rendezvous a couple years ago… 🙂
