Chris Smith Chris Craft SurfboardWell, the ebay gods today have given us some more fun comment fodder. Looks like there is a Chris Smith Surfboard on ebay. Now its a bit confusing to be honest here. Was it Chris Smith that made the surfboard and signed it, since it was purchased an estate sale and well. Chris is alive and well. So who made the thing? Chris signed it.

I recognize the signature for sure. But was it another Smith that made it then passed away? Its a kinda cool wall garage thing. A mess and useless, but as history goes, kinda cool. Whatever it is or how it came by to be on ebay.

Legend has it old Chris would surf down the South Channel while trolling for Muskie at the same time. He was one amazing guy!

The board measures 10″ by 2″?

Matt, you could tow it behind your 11″ crab skiff if you still have it!

Chris Smith signed it? I can see that. Sinatra recorded Duets, and Dylan advertised Chrysler And then there’s the plethora of aging popular actors advertising things like reverse mortgages and life insurance 🙂

Chris Smith, the grandson of the founder of Chris-Craft made this surf board for his oldest son, Larry sometime in the early 1960’s. I remember surfing on it behind the cruiser on Lake Michigan.
