Around 10:30 AM we couldn’t stand it anymore. We had gone so fare and worked on all the little things including a last minute water pump rebuild three times. yes we were dragging. And we paid for it. The launch went off Ok and Phil had a 5 Gallon bucket ready just in case.
No bilge pump, paddle nothing. We did have a company of boats and folks around, so felt good. True to form she started up lickety Split and the transmission worked! bonus extra.. No water coming in. WOW, and running. See below. Pictures tell the story. All great.
Nice 1/4 throttle ride, Execpt one problem, thats full throttle and the carb is a mess. She wont adjust, anything. Its possible that there is dirt in her from a quicky clean up. But she runs. Oil pressure good, temp gauge, good, everything was good.
Uh oh,water.. Not a huge amount, but water. Where is it coming from.. THE WATER PUMP! We suspect one of the clips got wonked during rebuild 3.
We did get home on her power though, so thats huge. We were NOT going to be towed in. Even though we had good company, We had made it that far. She drives like a very nimble dream, and once that throttle lets loose on a rebuilt carb, I am sure we are going to have a blast.. not a blow up blast, a fun blast.. Woohooo!
She is back on land now, so all is good in the world-ish
