It Was All Going So Well, Until!

kanas-wreck

Happened in front of us, a sign from God that our driving time was over for the day! The driver was safe BTW

The road trip of all road trips was cruising along just fine until the big snow and freeze hit Kansas.

Yesterday at 4:05 the drive ended. That aint a Lake ahead BTW! We are the blue dot before Kansas City

The only good way to look at this, is , at least the drive across the most boring state on the planet will be a little more interesting.

Passing through St Louis, The Boatress grabbed this one

We were lucky enough to avoid the East Coast blast and ice rain, but the icy snow caused us to stop early right before Kansas City. -2 today but sunny and on the road. Now if M-fine could leave Bob Kays alone in the back seat, we might make it to Boulder tonight. Fingers crossed and on the road again!

We must have seen over 30 cars and Trucks in various states of wreckdom along the way. The ice storm hit this area hard. They told us it took 10 hrs to drive from Kansas to St Louis two nights ago. Thats a 3 hour drive normaly

Can you lower the heat ? M- fine smells like cooked bacon and Troy keeps sending him girlie pictures and he won’t let me see. Oh yeah, I think I saw barrel back sticking out of a barn back there. The nice lady told me to keep my mouth shut or else.

You went thru St. Louis and didn’t call Al Benton ?

When you get to Boulder see if Tulaghi’s is still there…It was a down under ( below street level) place that served lots of Coors Beer to college kids. Had a lot of fun there when I was single…If you go the other way you will be up near Grand Lake where Chris Smith’s daughter (Chrisann) and husband live.

        Troy:

We spent a lot of time at C.U. when I was stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver. Girls were attractive and Coors was special since you couldn’t get it east of the Mississippi back in those days. Grand lake and Estes Park were great spots to visit. As for other spots…I just had the chance to take in a lot of boat shows and met a lot of great people.

That jet looked like a potential future barn find. Go back in 20 years and see if it’s still there. Or… You have the Yukon, just hook it up.

I just looked it up and Tulagi’s closed in 2003 after a tax raid and is now a sandwich shop.

Reading that on my phone made me car sick. Pull over! I think I’m going to puke!

Drat !…Tulagi’s didn’t consult me about Colorado tax laws, not that I would have been of much help..Besides it was back in the late ’50s when I went there and they going great guns back then…Maybe different owners then.

It is so cold that when we stopped at Wendy’s, M-fine got his tongue stuck to the outside bacon sign. Now he can’t eat all that food

Just woke up to -14° looks like I’ll be right here till tomorrow. It’s warmer in the North Pole. Which really don’t matter cause I ain’t expecting anything from the guy in the red suit after being told not to return to two different obedience classes.
