The Perfect Stinky Shoe! OK, That’s An Unfortunate Way to Say That.

Thats a nice “Stinky” shoe!

The other day Texx sent me a link to this cool red white and blue Americas Cup Sperry Top Sider Boat shoe! Its the perfect Stinky Shoe! Not that its stinky, but the boat Stinky our fun little red white and blue racer.

So I send the link to the boatress and I get a simple text back. “NO WAY” Now, how does this happen? I mean I like it, and she well? This seems to happen a bunch of times when it comes to stuff for boats and cars.

See!

And in the end she is usually right. But am I off here? Would it be too much?  YOU CAN SEE OR BUY A PAIR HERE!

Maybe a little too matchy matchy. Unless your name is Biff or something. After 32 years of marriage I’ve found the girls are usually right. or at least that’s the least painful way to go.

What happened to reports on the trip. Last we heard Matt was headed to Boulder, Colo. Did he fall off the earth ?

Finally got my Brass Bell…That cover is even more ausome than described earlier here at Woody Boater, Matt’s profile is pretty ausome….and I want one of the those Chris Craft peddle cars.

Still waiting for my Brass Bell in Wisconsin. Guess the snow and the cold have detoured the postman.

And, yeah, what happened to Boulder? Did you slide off the road? And, did Lou Rauh ever catch up?

You know – speaking of red, white, and blue – I’m currently restoring a 1938 Century Thunderbolt. When we dug it out of the barn back in May I was surprised to note the bottom was painted red, white, and blue. We theorize that means the last bottom maintenance was done in 1976 and it has pretty much sat since then.

Hope you made it to the slopes…Nothing like the powder at Berthoud Pass, Winter Park or anywhere else in Colorado for that matter. A day in Aspen would be great. It was affordable when we were out there…In fact the Mayor was a friend…His stationery said “Aspen Shipyards”

As for Utah…they have wooden boats in Utah ?…Surely not in the Great Salt Lake.

Seeing how my old pair of Sperry’s finally bit the dust – (they get a little slippery when the sipes wear off and you just have the sole material…) and I have a red, white and blue boat as well, I may just have to get a pair…

You have to get them no matter what the boatress says, heck get her a pair too. That is what I did and starting next season there will be pictures of both my wife and I in turquoise (sea foam) boat shoes instead of just me.

    Ouch! Sticker shock.

In the 1970’s I used to buy my Topsiders at the Uniroyal (ne: U.S.Rubber Co.) factory store in Naugatuck Ct. for half-price, $12.95. I replaced them when the soles wore down (siping long gone by then) and the stitches in the bottom grooves were exposed and the soles started flopping.

I don’t think they’re as good as they used to be, but perhaps neither am I.

I agree with the Boatress, not the best look. If you are going to go wild you can get Century owners shoes, they come in a number of bright colors.
