Looking For A Lost Cavalier Flagpole! Have You Ever Lost A loved Thing?

,

The other day while out on the Termite Terror, the bow flag pole and flag fell off the boat. Of course it wasn’t noticed until it was all too late. The sad part is that that is the original flag, and pole to the boat and its a bigger loss than just a another flagpole.

Looks like this!

Something we have all lost. Add to that, that it’s impossible to find a replacement. And we have tried all the sources. So today, I am asking if anyone has such a part. It’s a 1961 Metal bow pole for a Cavalier. The other style out there is to thick, and have a small wood ball top. Which is wrong. As you can see in the photo. This one is different. So? Got one out in the garage? And to help others with lost loved things. Feel free to post your lost items today. Maybe the good folks of Woodyboaterville can help you connect again.

That is probably the same pole I should have for my 62 but don’t. It was gone long before I was the owner though.

I have not personally lost any big items like that yet. I lose a lot of little things like the vanes off my water pump impellers, quarts of oil, and the 1/2″ socket from all my socket sets.

I saw some 1/2 inch sockets at Harbor Freight. I have lost maybe 3 or 4 anchors with short chains and rope when they work a little too well and would not turn loose.

The Harbor Freight ones are the problem. Not enough real metal in them to stick to my “recovery magnet” after they escape into the lake.

Is Jim Staib telling you that you have been flying a Century aft pole on a Chris Craft for a year the same as losing one ? Especially after totally rebuilding and re-finishing the wrong pole.

My ’60 Cavalier bow light has a ½” deep receiver for the flag pole. I can only use the flag at idle and low speeds. It’s wood, so when it does blow off, it makes a loud clunk on the deck and floats. I do love hearing about other Cavaliers out there. Mine just celebrated her 58th birthday on the 16th.

I have a 1957 16′ Chris Craft Cavalier. I believe I have the same bow flag pole but I have a different bow light that it fits into. I can check later today. I was in the process of selling the bow pole but be warned it comes with the entire boat and trailer!! But seriously, the boat is for sale and I can take some pictures and measurements of the bow flag pole for Jimmy if he needs it.

So it turns out the flag was the wrong flag all along, We just bought a Cavalier flag. The pole may have been a pole from Perko? Or on later models. Jimmy has had this boat for decades and not about being correct. We are progressing! Thanks so much for your support in these tough times. And Troy.. Well.

Feel your pain. We’re missing the chrome shade thingy from the top of the stern pole on our Raven 22. It was discovered missing upon return to port one sunny afternoon. Fortunately, my “boatress” (pictured) is not missing.

I lost a light off the stern pole of a 19′ Racer once in about 4 feet of water while the boat was in a boat house. We waded in that spot for over an hour and although it is not my boat house, to my knowledge that light has never been found. Fortunately we found another…Think we got it from Jim.

We were out in our ’69 Century 17′ Resorter on Puget Sound one time and I glanced back and noticed that the stern pole with ensign was not there. I knew where we had been and, since it was all wood, should still be floating out there. Though it would be tough to see we circled the area many times, keeping at it since it too was original to the boat. After about 20 minutes a fisherman, who we had passed probably 20 times, finally held up the pole and flag and said “are you looking for this”. He must have been feeling a bit guilty after that length of time for sitting on it — we thanked him profusely.

Yep. Red flag with “Cavalier” embroidered.
Raked or straight, depending on the bow light hole.

Yes, now that you mention it. I lost my 1965 Pacemaker a few years ago and I find I really miss it. What was I thinking to let go of it!
If you see it please let me know!

No, his virginity not his marbles.
Girl walks into a bar and starts eating all the cherries for the mixed drinks up at the bar. The bartender tells her it doesn’t matter how many you eat you wont get it back.

This is pole number 4. lost 2 very quickly then the flag got so heavy from being soaking wet on Lake George it broke the pole.
I now have a smaller flag and a additional safety wire just in case.
