Bob Kays Keeps Gasping, And Gasping.

Sunset – Lake Hopatcong

Thanks to Bob ” Have I Got A Calendar For You” Kays for sending in one more last, last maybe last gasp. Take it away Bob. BTW, it’s getting to be Calendar time!

Color

My 2 part last gasp in Relax.  A week ago Sunday. We had a full lake in October for the first time in a few years and warm temperatures. The perfect recipe for woody boating.  The first last gasp was Oct 22. 75 and sunny. Great ride all around the lake. So many boats it was like a summer day. Lunch at the Main Lake Market with Denise and Gracie.

Gracie, playing in the leaves.

This past Sunday was the day to close the house and put the boats away. Planned a weekend of doing this, dropping the Chris – Craft at Katz’s Marina on Sunday afternoon.

Stuff is getting tucked away at Katz’s Marina

Mother Nature had other plans. Heavy Rains and wind for Sunday. So everything needs to be done on Saturday. I  dropped the boat off at Katz’s for it’s winter sleep and good care by the Katz’s Marina Crew.

Some parts of lake don’t have color

Some are perfect

Some are mixed

I took the long way in heavy winds, white caps and bright sun and then talked boats with Alan and Sean for a few minutes. The rains came and the lake went up 9″  Today I thought I might get one more gasp, the boat was in!
The lake was so windy and cold!
Maybe Friday???

The sun was perfect, but the wind!

Sometimes a little wind makes amazing photos.

A huge thanks to Hagerty Marine Insurance for making last Gasp week a special event each year! And make sure you are up to date on your policy!

This story is a day late! Yesterday was flip your Bob Kays calendar day. Only one more flip day left this year. It seems to have gone by fast.

Is the 2018 edition off to the printers yet?

For those of you who have not yet seen the new calendar, Bob has out done himself for 2018. The picture of a boat called “Reflection” (complete with a reflection of Reflection) on the cover is classic.

I am looking forward to receiving my copy. Along with this website, Bob’s photography helps get through the cold and snowy winters with warm thoughts of boats on the mind.

Matt, I was just wondering. Are the stories in the “You Might Like” section, the same for everyone? Nice photos Mr. Kays. Keep them comin’ in.

Spectacular boathouse shot. Lake went up 9” is amazing amount of rain. This is great season to boat in the south, no “traffic”, flatter water, color in the leaves, crisp air-low humidity. Now, if I could just get a day off.

Ours is a “perched ” lake. Sinkhole has opened up. The lake is projected to be gone dry by Christmas…..But like always….with enuff rain it will be back in a a few years.

Would love to have 9 inches of rain here.
