Meet Fiesty, A Cobra With A Heart

In da drink!- Photo Bob Kays

It’s cold out so we thought it might be nice to go to the way back machine. Yup, about a month ago, when it was still 80 outside. Bob HaveIGotACalendarForYou and his camera and Alan and Shawn/Shaun/Sean from Katzs Marina had a chance to go out and run Fiesty, a freshly restored 21 Cobra named after Terry Fiest, who was a huge help with Seth back in the start up days of Katzs Marina. It’s the perfect name, and describes perfectly how these rare Cobras run, and gives honor to a wonderful guy who has helped so many in the culture of classic boating.

    BOB I LOVE your work!

It is always interesting to me how a one year flop will turn into the collectible of the future. Just look at the Cobra and the Split Window Corvette. Actually they look a little alike when you think about it.

I prefer the Vette with a soft top and the Cobra has always struck me as a mish mash of non-matching lines. If they put a plaid interior in it, it would be my least favorite Chris Craft.

OTOH, Bob is one of my favorite Chris Craft photographers, and by far my favorite calendar supplier. You know the man is talented if he can make a Cobra look good!

I love both of those. My brother had the Vette and I built the Torpedo. The Cobra inspired me to do a two passenger Sports Boat.

Beautiful boat! great pictures. Sure brightened my breakfast up on this gloomy cold November day.

Beautiful restoration, however the fiberglass fin and hatches are painted and not finished in the original manner. What is the reason the fiberglass is not done correctly, especially when high dollar restorations are performed? The color difference is very different when done correctly.
