It’s Never Cold In Woodyboaterville. Wait, Holy Crap. It Sure Was Yesterday.

The Chair where I work on WoodyBoater. the Boatress calls it the Juice bar, Lets just say its due for a replacement.

What do you do on a cold day? Work on a boat? Ya, but the heater in the garage aint that strong. Its around 20 here and we are not set up for cold days like that. 40, sure, I can warm up the garage.

Stuff in the barn needs to be organized

The Junk wall. That darn transom is always a fun reminder, the fish the Boatress caught in Acapulco.

So, it’s been a day of cleaning up stuff on the site, and getting ready for our huge New WoodyBoater in January. Over 6 months in the works.

Love these flags. All from Michigan.

Working on some designs for some cool work shirts

I was able to hang some cool old vintage flags, and well, run back inside and search ebay for more $300 pins.. What the hell? What am I missing. Hey, I am not thinking its nuts. But what was it? Several people must have wanted that sucker. Anyway, its a cold Saturday, and the comment farm is open.

Ruby says bring it on! BTW, if you think for a second she is a little Prissy dog. Anyone that knows her, knows she is a total bad ass. Seen her airborn catch a bird in mid flight! Kills rabbits and stuff around the yard. Oreo, and the others just watch. And Slim, is the puss of all of them.

Meet “Slim”.. Actually, Macaroni Slim, part Pit, part Border Collie, Smart Strong and a cry baby.. Ruby runs the house.

Rubys not even fazed.

Murphy says this ones for you Troy!

Okay, it’s cold, too cold to go boating, I think. We may try and get the Trawler going. Its gotta heater and what the hell! Better than sitting around taking photos of the dogs!

16 up here on Long Island this morning. Got in about 1 am after a 15 hour run up from TN. Not looking forward to unloading the UHaul truck in this cold and letting all the heat out of the house. Definitely not working on any of the boats today though I did bring up a 52 year old fiberglass pram, my first boat . Got it when I was 8.

Well, it was only 10 above for the low at the cottage last night. This was up from the 0 and below lows we have had all week. It will get colder again starting tonight and for the rest of the week. We have not had a run of weather this cold in Michigan for a while. It’s sad to look at the boats freezing in the barn!

Explain to me again how this Global Warming thing works? Kinda early for this cold. Does it mean we’ll start Spring in February and Summertime in March?

Looks like we are going to have a warming trend about mid week. I think it drops back down again after that though.

Grab a blanket and stay warm.

Tried to visit Rabbit a few weeks ago, but did not find him at the kiosk. Go Figure!

It was warm here this morning, around 11 when I went out for yard patrol. I was panting after chasing the deer away so I am hoping it will cool off again.

Tell Jaxon to visit Erie PA, they got enough snow last week to share.

So cold that I had to fix a kitchen cabinet. Wood is wood I guess.

Nice homestead! You need a big fighting fish chair in there. Of course, not as comfortable as a well worn recliner. Happy eBay searching.

Troy! I see you visited the Faribault Woolen Mill pop-up store at the Mall of America. Sorry I missed you. Everyone’s wrapped in wool here at Balsam Lake, Wisconsin where it’s -18 the water is very hard and Rabbit is tucked away in the boathouse for her long winter sleep.

cold ? 20 F ? What ? Oh please. I was outside at a construction site on Tuesday and the air temp was -25 F (not the wind chill – just the regular ol air temp). After a few minutes with just a hard hat on my noggin I went back to the truck and dug out a wooly hat I could put on under the hard hat. + 20 is not cold

I am in Southern Wisconsin and right now my phone reads – 4 F. 20 + would be a heat wave. My shop goes dark when the temp dips below 28 as that seems to be the magic marker when my LP tank stops feeding the shop heater. As I can’t keep it going when I’m there – after this little period of 8 days every tool in the place is ready to stick to my fingers. And – I have many cans of various chemical items piled on the floor of my home office. I can not imagine being outside and working in -25 F……………………..

I hate to say we’re colder but we are.
Currently -25C in Alberta going down to -33C tonight that’s -24F
And that’s all before any windchill.
Been in my house 26 years ,woken up to frozen water line in basement on Tuesday that had burst 3 inches of water every where (could have floated a boat)
    Not much fun!
Stay warm and Happy New Year.

You just have to know how to take proper care of your dog when it gets real cold. My grand kids make sure of that!

I sure wish I was in FL. At least I have a new used book to read. It is called the Nature of Boats by Dave Gerr. A navel architect from New York. Its a great book and Dave says the most efficient material per pound for boat building is wood.

Man ! You are all just plum crazy to live in places that get down to minus 34 or whatever. Here in Portland, we had a minus 3 once way back in 1950. It is a nice 54 today. Never had a wrench freeze to my hand. Never snapped off a key in an ignition switch. Wait, my outside garden hose froze last year for a bit, but never have I had to deal with a frozen water pipe in the house. I think today I’ll put on a sweatshirt and wander down to Starbucks for a mocha. You all stay warm.

That football coach ( Taggart) you sent down here to FSU from Oregon probably thought it wuld be warmer here in Florida….But it was 37 here last night but back up in the 50’s to day and maybe 60 later this afternoon so I guess he’ll be happy…Everybody here seems to like him..Better that Jimbo Fisher we dumped on Texas A&M.
I saw those same two guys fishing out behind the house this morning for the third day in a row…The brim must be biting. If I weren’t so old and lazy I’d walk down to the dock and see.

I am in Taveras. It’s about 65 here. 80 some day early for the boat show. It is pretty anyway. Early for the boat show, late for the Christmas party, what do you do. If it weren’t so cold I would go to the U P and hibornate.🐻
