Social Media! Those two words now bring up so many hard feelings. Whats funny is that it was invented to help people connect, and yet, has become some sort of horrible divisive part of us all. And lately, politics aside…if that is possible, we have had a short fuse as a society and there is instant persecution and mob rule. Agree or disagree, is not the issue. Guilt or not guilt, is not the issue.
Forgiveness of flaws and compromise is. And NOTHING on the planet exemplifies those two qualities blended together with Joy and frustration than a Woody Boat. I will say that my short time in this universe has taught me forgiveness and compromise. An engine that needs to be managed, fixed and cared for, varnish that despite being perfect, ages. Compromising fancy wiz bang electronics that cure all, with an analog world that needs to be tightened and adjusted. All this has helped me cope, and I feel that if everyone was forced to own a classic boat would learn it all. Or sink, and just sit there on a lake dead in the water alone.
This past weekend before Micheal ruined all my fun, while running Stinky, she would randomly start sputtering and stall. Now, the old me would have been pissed at everyone involved. All the way down to the engineer that designed this mess. But now, I pulled out my hammer, original factory hammer BTW, and taped on the carb to free up the jet, and vroom I was off and running. Such is life. When crap gets in the way, pull out your hammer/screwdriver and tap it and move on
. You will feel like your smarter and have fun with things that get in the way. After all, wouldn’t life be boring if we all ran perfectly and were all a pontoon boat!
