California Sausage – I Need To Go On A no Sausage Diet Soon.

,

Whats a sausage day without Mitzi Pemprook.

Well, sorry, sausage again. But according to the stats I am not the only one that likes some good yummy sausage. Now, I need to explain today. See, I am getting over west coast time now. I don’t transition well in the time area since I get up early anyway. So while in LA, I would cruise around the interneter looking for stories and these are the scraps.  This is all driven by trying to meet my 8AM deadline for emails and general feeding of the woody beast. So here it is. Hopefully we can take a break from Sausage soon.

I could not do that. Dang!

MISS ? Would have been cool to know the name of the boat. now this is a pet peave area ALERT. WHY? WHY? on ebay are photos like this captioned GAY? It seems like any photo of a man in a boat is captioned GAY? The sellers do not know these men are anything? And who the hell buys photos of men like this for the reason GAY? Are photos of me and a bunch of buddies out on a boat in the future be captions GAY? Why the hell does it matter? Sometimes I wonder about people?

Love the trailer ad

How about calling your next show a Motor Boat Show? You could also have all sorts of vintage Motors there? And a booth with large breasted women. Troy can take it from here.

    Matt,

The pictures are labeled GAY because the seller wants to make sure a certain demographic that is a disproportionate hunk of the the potential buyer pool can find it with a key word search.

BTW, if you get tired of sausages, you can always make your scraps into a Pennsylvania style Scrapple Day.

Here’s an idea…regionalize your sausage days! Scrapple Day featuring the Penn/MD area….Bratwurst Day for Minnesota….Croghan Bologna Day for 1000 Islands area…etc. Come on man…get creative!! Meat in a tube makes the world go round…

It is amazing what you come up with Matt. Loved the Penn Yan Trailboat in the Georga Postcard. How cool was the guy with the 57 Chevy BelAir and a boat! Is the driver of the Chris Craft checking a text? Looks like the guy with the biggest Johnson for 56 was able to entertain 4 women. He looks like Moondoggy off the Giget movies.

Hard to beat a good Sausage day!

I think I would attend that show. Would it be a “Kissing Booth”?

As a kid I always wanted a toy cruiser like the Phillips 66 one. Instead, I received a wood keel type sail boat that would chronically list to one side. Maybe that’s why I gravitated to power boats as an adult.

I’m sorry but I don’t get the sausage thing. At first I thought it was only a Friday thing but now I see it in the middle of the week so I was wrong there. Is it supposed to be just a bunch of stuff mixed together? Isn’t there a boat being restored somewhere out there to do a story on…I’m mean beside Katz’s Marine.

Brown siding (or logs) and green roofs: Know why that looks so great? It’s a principle of traditional rustic/Adirondack design. Cabins/cottages/lodges were designed to blend into their natural wooded environment. So brown logs/siding blend in with the tree trunks and green roofs blend in with the tree canopy.

We have a lot of beautiful Civilian Conservation Corp-built state park buildings in Minnesota and Wisconsin and they alway re-roof them with brown roofs. They should be green.

    So now you know.

Your picture “Party on Lake George ” is of the dock of the “Top O’ the World” resort. Kind of a dude ranch/golf resort, popular in the 50s’, owned by the Tuttle family. As a kid, when we drove by, seemed like there was always a party hopping. As an adult, our family rented the 11 BR lake house with its interesting memoribilia (aka TOTW Museum). Even took a ride in that 58 Continental also.

I’ve had that exact Chris Craft trailer since 1959. It just went away last week. Chris used a really awkward split rim design that was a bear to work on, especially stuck by the side of the road.

And why is my Boat Buzz column in Greek? Or some other language of which I have no knowledge? Very interesting!!!

If we’re going regional, for the Rochester NY/Finger Lakes area you could call it “White Hot” day or better yet “Garbage Plate” day.
