Frosty The Boat Man

The beauty of misery

I suppose you are feeling a bit of the chill outside. YIKES. Even here in Virginia is getting a tad cold. But we all try and see the good in it all. After all there is no way to solve it by complaining. So with that in mind, I had a photo op and took it. In my bathrobe and PJ’s I ran out and captured some of the Frost that was gonna melt as soon as the sun came out. Been a while since I could take a photo. Felt good not chasing ebay crap! UGH.

It’s cold!

Frosty Varnish

Its gonna need a refresh in the spring, thats for sure

Beautiful day of course

She has a whole lotta winters

Like a fuzzy coat of ..well..ice

The House.

YIKES

Sparkle!

More cleat gold

Thin coat of ice on the creek

Then while out stumbled upon HER! Sitting next to the water

She was having her breakfast. Great Horned Owl.

Thats it, I ran inside to thaw out. Got any photos of the cold. Have at it. Remember photos over 1 mg don’t load

Is that the remains of a Great Blue Heron? That is some serious predator – prey action. If your boat is still in the water here your bubbler should be checked every hour. Good luck to all in the polar vortex.

It looked like it. This was one serious owl. she followed me with those eyes. We have bald Eagles as well, and always have an eye out because of our dogs.

Currently traveling in Argentina with a couple from Canada’s capital Ottawa where it was -37 C last week .
It was the coldest capital city in the world on that day they also got 34 inches of snow
And you wonder why we use bumpers on our boats

Neat pics! Just a little frost. You are not going to get much sympathy from the northern guys.

Matt, I have an extra BoatSafe engine compartment heater if you want to replace the light bulbs….bring it to you at the chapter meeting at Eric’s?

Also…trivia: wonder why Dorade vents are always painted RED on the inside?
