Thanks Miss Rheingold Beer

Miss Rheingold 1958 and an OWEN’s cruiser

I was looking at something online and came across this image above, and did a little digging to find an absolute brillient campaign that lasted years. Sadly I am not sure this sort of marketing could go on these days. But its smart. Its repeatable, grows larger and larger, and creates stars of people that want to be stars. But for us, it included boats, for years, boats were part of the wonderful photos by famed photographer to the stars Paul Hesse who shot a ton of these.

Wonderful image on a Chris Craft 1951

I wonder if OWENS boats had a deal with Rheingold? Co-op ads are a thing now. Also Jognson is credited in the upper left

Love the hat Anne

Back on a cruiser

SCREEEECH, There is Guy Lombardo again.

Ya, she is painting

THis is the same Miss Rheingold as on the Owens

Signal flag fun!

Anyway, I got all into the rabbit hole this morning finding more and more parts of the campaign, it’s endless, and wonderful.

You would VOTE!

The ultimate award, being on a beer can! Sure beats being on a Milk Carton!

Very nice Bar Topper

25 years of Miss Rhingold!

The campaign went from 1940-1965, I will add that in the marketing world thats amazing. YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT THE RHEINGOLD BRAND HERE

The photo styles are fantastic and very iconic of the times. Even though the Beer Co is from Bushwick NY, the photos apear to be taken in LA where Paul Hesse lived

PUPPIES!

Well, it goes on and on and on, like one of Paul Harrison’s comments! OUCH!

Classy ads with thought put into highlighting women as respectable models. Not hoe’d up like some ads today.

But don’t argue with a woman holding a gun!

Tippi Hedren, apparently an unsuccessful candidate for Miss Rheingold 1953, went on to a successful career as an actress, appearing in over 80 films and TV shows. She starred in the Alfred Hitchcock films, The Birds (1963) and Marnie (1964). She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

you guys missed the best pic….the woody wagon, the championship bird dog….and forget the gal…how about that over and under she is cradling!! Gun is worth more than the car….dog more than both. Neat ad.

I remember voting for Miss Rheingold at a pub in Ithaca , NY in 1958 and 1959. We use to stuff the ballot box.

I kind of like this guy peaking out from the helm.

Not sure is he is trying to look up her skirt or yelling out “get out of the way, I can’t see where I am going!”
