Loch Ness Live-ish – Yes That Loch Ness.

Scotland

I bet you didn’t see this coming! A report in from our Berlin Bureau who is enjoying traveling all over the place. Yesterday I received this report from Loch Ness, yes, home of the Monster.  There is a classic boat connection, and thought it might spark some sort of comment farm of sorts.

The sign says its so

A very cool series of canals. Actually an engineering marvel

A lock at the Loch?

The Lock Inn near the Lock, on the Loch?

Here is the report. It’s a long and very detailed report. Ready?

“They’re opening like 7 dams and levying(?) boats to Loch Ness for something called the Loch Ness challenge. No idea but Bagpipes and Haggis n stuff.”

The Berlin Bureau!

That’s it! Just photos with no captions.

Remind me that I need to have a chat with our Berlin Burearu about his insightful reports. I will say, it kinda sums up the situation though. Bagpipes and Haggis. HA. Reminds me of this great film.

Now back to Loch Ness.

Boats and bagpipes

I have Scottish heritage in my bloodline but that haggis looks and sounds positively revolting. Sorry ancestors. Now the Guinness, that’s just fine with me.

My bride and I were in the Lock Ness area two weeks ago. Beautiful area and nice weather (low 70’s) tried the haggis, it wasn’t bad but they need to change the name, just saying. This area and the Lake District in UK are a must see for boaters.

Great story! A year ago some family members and I rented a boat, and metered the Entire Caledonian Canal. We navigated the locks at Ft Augustus. Not real easy but fun. Drank Scottish Ale in The Lock Inn. Very beautiful trip. Defiantly a must for any Woody Boater.
