Falls Flyer Rec Room Find!

,

1949 Larson Falls Flyer

We are gonna take a Flyer this weekend off from the Battle of the Knot, and enjoy boats.  Here is a fun distraction, If you are into these, and who isn’t from a distance, this is a very worthy and fun project. These Falls Flyers have a cult following, and you got to admit, would look cool even in your living  rec room. Which is kinda where it was found.

Love the red detail

Just think how much you have in common with it. You hung around in Rec rooms, it hung around in a rec room. Kismet?

Ribs!

You look old and worn out, yet have some life in you, she looks worn out ish and has some life in her.

You are built for each other

She has a loon on her bow? You’re a loon.

Stuffed?

She has a fat belly and flat aft, you well… Have a fat belly… See? This baby is waiting for you to play some Ping Pong? ( Rec Room Joke) Ugh, do I have to explain all my bad jokes?

I wouldn’t restore it. Just leave it. Its art.

So, you ready to take it to the next level?  Well just click here on Ebay and she could be all yours.

The way Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence are rising, that might be the perfect boat to navigate the streets of Clayton this summer.

Matt, October 28, 2016 is another Falls Flyer article in the Woodyboater archive (not your best…the yoga pants got the biggest mention). I love this shape..image a Larson Falls Tarp find. The factory burnt down with all the plans, I believe. Does anyone know where a wooden Larson Flyer set of plans may be obtained?

    6 cell phone numbers ??? many e mails ???
I have never owned 6 cell phones in my life !
I answer e mails when someone sends me one !
I sold the 24ft sportsman 38 years ago, how the hell do I know where it went.
Hepburn never owned anything, she was to cheap. The only thing they gave her was a 13ft Grumman canoe that was never used in the movie. I herd that her estate or her sold it to Wayne Newton for 13,000.00 dollars, real deal, more golden pond crap!
This boat has the wrong color red in it, it was lighter red.
I see the gooney birds were out in full force the last two days, what a joke!

I really like mine. 1954 Sea Queen 14 still sporting the original factory varnish. Great boat for pulling kids on waterskis and it handles some serious chop.

Judging by the upholstery in the Larsen, we may be looking at “Stinky Too”! 😉 Cool…

Alright. I gotta ask a dumb question. With this rounded bow set up, in any semi rough wind caused lake wave situation, does the water go up and over the bow and thus onto the occupants? Or, does the bow ride a bit high due to the engine and people in rear of the boat?

We have been drenched on more than one occasion on the river hitting the wakes left by those idiotic wake board boats….I cannot image in the trouncing one would get with little thing.

On my ’54 fiberglass version, the mold taken off one of their early wood Flyers, the normal lake ride is dry and comfortable.
Does ride flat with two people in the rear compartment and a Mercury Mark 55.

My 19′ C.C. Capri will get you beat badly with inconsiderate wake boarders.
You just have to pick your times to go out.
Anymore unless you have one of those 100k+ boats you have to keep your distance or pick a time when you are alone on the lake.

The Kalamazoo is in my basement and the St. Lawrence is in my brothers. The whole system is full and the farmers are in trouble.

Briant, Googling the Larson boats I read that the inboard version of the Falls Flyer tended to ‘torpedo’ in choppy water and had to be designed.
