Over Night Shooting Reported In Woodyboaterville!

,

The lake Hopatcong Yacht Club of all places! There goes the neighborhood

Reports are coming in of a shooting in Woodyboaterville last night and as it turns out, this has been happening for quite some time. Gangs of shooters have been out on lakes and on docks taking shots at Woody Boaters. What is this world coming to?  Old boats, old people out creating a ruckus at night.

Bob Rice captured on night surveillance. If you see this man out at night report it! We are. And yes I had to google surveillance. Several times. That was a tough one.

I mean shouldn’t everyone be asleep by 8pm? There is nothing to do past 8 at night except gallivanting around and causing a scene. The good news, is we pay our reporters double to go out and capture the events. Bob Kays is on the job. Here at Woody Boater we strive to bring you the latest, no really, the late at night reports. We have been known to stay up until 9 to make sure all is safe!

The scene of the night time shooting. It looks so peaceful.

By the way the big show on lake Hopatcong, is on June 22, this year is going to be a whopper of a show with a couple special boats showing up. Including Miss America IX! Can you imagine that wake up drive in the morning, This gang stuff is getting out of hand.

Do you have any reports of nighttime shootings in your area?

Here in Reedville we have had a couple

No one is exempt form late night shootings. Even at lee Andersons crib!

Even the Boatress got shot at night here in Reedville while being towed in?

Even in Clayton at the Antique Boat Museum. What is this country coming too? Kent O. Smith risked his life to capture this.

Sure it looks peaceful. BUT?

Folks are breaking down over this. – Lake Mowhawk – Don Ploatner

Hessle Michigan – Alex Watson even has reported explosions at night. UGH.

And todays header captured by night stalker Reporter Bob Kays – Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club. Mike Smiths wonderful 20 Custom

oh sure, looks peaceful, mmmmmm! It is New Jersey after all.

I don’t have any shootings, but I have a GREAT late night boating story.

When I was just a wee lad my parents used to put us in our footy PJ’s and take us out for late night rides. There were usually 3 t0 6 Woodies rumbling around the lake during those rides. One of the residents decided to write a letter to the editor of our local paper complaining about the noise these boats created late at night, so my father and his buddies went out one night and shut off their engines short of the offended persons cottage. They preceded to paddle their crafts into position aiming their sterns directly at the cottage. The group simultaneously started and revved their engines and went on with their late night ride. After that event there were no more complaints about the noise of the passing boats late at night.

There is nothing much better than a moon lit ride around a calm lake.

The 34th WHERE IT ALL BEGAN Algonac Show is also on June 22nd. Gentleman’s racers is the featured boat. If you are farther west we would love to have you join the Michigan gang for a fun weekend!

I used to love cruising around at night, but these days my old eyes play tricks on me at night, and it is hard to judge things in the distance. Plus all not nut job drunks seem to make it even more dangerous with an old dude like me puttizn at 5 m.p.h.

That Troy is a chip of the old block…only difference would be…he would have mooned em too…with the stern light on.

Just back from a fine drive to Harbor Fest in Norfolk…tall ships, cast of thousands….really cool day and no rain for a change.

I remember back in the early 70’s when there was a 1968 Donzi that blasted up the lake in the wee hours of the morning and our folks affectionately named it that “Damn Donzi”. They loved the sound of our next door neighbors Century Ski Dart taking off with the unmistakable sound of the 109 Gray Marine 6 cylinder. Now fast forward to today and I have both of these boats in my care. Still have the kid in me! Moonlight cruising is always the best!
