Good Lord! Was There A Classic Boat Show In Every Town In America This Weekend?

,

Happy! The Boatress and her pal Brenda

How does this happen? I am doing Sausage Day stories for a year on life support, and in one day, so many shows, my head is twirling. So you know what I did? Ya. I went boating. It’s the Boatress’s B Day Weekend, and she wanted to go boating. Oh, we have some reports in. Another whopper with cheese from Algonac. Sorry David you are gonna have to do more of this.

Winner of the best Umbrella in Algonac

Fun stuff and classic Woody Boater fun. Bay Harbor had a 13 boat show. Lake Wawassi, had a great turn out, but no reports. And the big show on Lake Hopatcong with Miss America IX and a bunch of boats from out of town since I think it was the ACBS International meeting. We will have a report from there as well.  Hopefully you too were able to get out there and enjoy the weather. Our weather in Reedville was windy as hell, and has calmed down to a very nice balmy day with amazing sunsets.

We got WECATCHEM home! Getting ready to go boating, backing her into the house

Putting her back together again

Scarlet is wondering if she can go!

At Kelsey’s dock

Headed out for a sunset ride with my birthday bride

Calm perfection

Wow, what a wonderful moment.

Stop taking pictures. Oh boy, gotta go now..

And the 44th annual Portage Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show near Akron, OH. Had over 50 boats with a theme of “Celebrating Outboards”. Largest variety of boats and motors I’ve ever seen at a show. Tons of bright fiberglass and aluminum mixed in with the mahogany. Half the boats were outboard powered. Great timing – first sunny, dry, and warm weekend in NE Ohio this year.

What? No coverage of the Picton Show? lol. Yes, lots of shows and yet, here I sit tearing down my boat engine. Great timing

Thompson Antique & Classic Boat Rally is being held 28-29 June 2019 at Marinette, Wisconsin. NO judging. NO awards. Open to any and all watercraft no matter the make/brand or hull material. Fun and food and all that stuff

Finally getting some nice weather in the ANE!

I would LOVE to be out on the water, but am doing all the painting and prepping that the bad weather has prevented.

Just got home from the Algonac event. Too busy having fun to comment much this weekend. For those into stats we had 73 boats registered and a kazillion fun people that showed up to go boating and party with the Michigan gang. David is now our official livish reporter and I know he gave you some great stuff. The first mate and I are enjoying a beverage and winding down from it all so that is all for now!
