The Little Website That Could! Woody Boater Is Still Kick’n Thanks To You.

Warm photos today!

For the past two days, we have been updating the back end of Woody Boater so it can be more secure. There has been a huge shift in Google and other web services co’s to make sure your website cant be used for crap like election meddling, hacking and other nefarious use. Google will and has been blocking un secured sites. Because our site is old, it was way over due for this sort of updates. Like needing new plugs, ignition and a carb rebuild. Think more heart valve than facelift.

What a day that was.

I could look at this photo for hours.

What struck all the experts we got to do this, was that WoodyBoater still has amazing traffic. They were shocked and laughed about it. This little website is a miracle on said, and like a Volvo with a bazillion miles on it, just keeps going despite all the crap happening around it. Screen changes, mobile crap, web stuff, all of it. We can only attribute it to one thing. Loyal readers. That’s YOU!

She is still here

I know you all want Wood Boats, pictures warm rides. So do I.

I find myself in the grind and sometimes forget to look up and appreciate what an amazing community we are! Even on a day when we talk about diarrhea on board, and the site crashes all over the place. You all kept going. The guys working on the site were able to see the live traffic as it was happening, thinking, what the heck. Traffic doubled during the breakdown. mmmmmm Hold on… WTF! So, maybe, just spit balling here. Gonna run this up the flagpole..

Ya! We did that!

What if we just trash the site. Traffic would double.. And all the sponsors would get so much more business. people would start buying old wood boats and I could retire and do more Woody boater. Wait? Then I would have to fix it, and … I am in one of those loops again.. GOD! I need a boat ride. Not some lame one I see on line either. I need gas fumes, I need the spray of water, the burn of skin when touching chrome. The random breakdown and teeth jarring pound of a rouge wake. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sunsets and Woody Boater, maybe not always perfect. but when it is. Its magic!

Summer smiles! GO CARLA!

Smiles on land as well! Pat and Sheila Chaps in full Michigan traditional native head gear! Apparently one helps with the sun and the other from aliens! Or folks from Ohio!

Hmmm, so even Woodyboater works better as a daily blog when she has modern power under the hood? I think the universe is trying to tell you something. 🙂

I’ve gotten so frustrated with web sites that I think a hammer with a slight or larger tap would free up that crap! I had to tap the carb on my lawn tractor a couple of days ago, and it has modern power! Keep up the good work Matt, you’re appreciated in western Nebraska/Wyoming!

Speaking of Carla, we haven’t had an update in a while. Great job keeping this site up Matt. The only issue I’ve ever had was trying to post a picture using my iPad and whatever extension iPad saves it in, to your site, which doesn’t like that extension and you play hell trying to change it on an iPad so I just go back to the Desktop pc

The site doesn’t like the pictures from my iPhone saying the files are too large. But that’s for another day. Go boating.

Tip for the Apple users having picture problems. There are two buttons to post a picture. Skip the first one I circled in red (stop/no/port) and use the one in green (go/good/starboard).
