A Clayton O. Smith Jr Tease

Red White and Blue

Well, thanks to fellow Woody Boater Kent O. Smith Jr we have a tease today from Clayton and the big show that has now officially started. While I am stuck here at home with a home renovation and some heavy work load, “some” get to bask in the glory of the Thousand islands. And what do we get? One Photo! One amazing photo.

Amazing – CICADA out doing what she does best! JOY!

But in true Woody Boater fashion, or lack of fashion, I have made a complete meal out of that one photo. Like Hamburger helper, we can stretch that one amazing image into several.

Timeless joy

Hopefully you are headed to there, or out there, or anything but sitting on your computer writing a story about how much fun others are having. What is wrong with this picture?

Perfection reflection

I call this last one. Kent O. No people!

    Nice stretch of a photo. You know that last one has happened to someone, somewhere, sometime.

    Matt and Kent have an added story within this picture as the 33ft Gar Wood boat with a liberty V12 engine is being driven by Tom Mittler in the blue shirt.
    Tom’s passion for mahogany boats particularly raceboats was of the highest standards to which every one of his boats was refinished to; and that is the reason why there are some spectacular boats at all the shows.
    Tom left a legacy of fantastic boats, he was a steward and a patron to this great hobby;
    Sadly Tom passed a number of years ago but I thought we might celebrate Tom Mittler here today with such a photo.

    Its odd how small that aft cockpit is considering the length of the boat. It was a long time ago but I think it was Jean Hoffman’s 33 footer that I had the opportunity to be invited to ride in and we were in the aft cockpit. Room enough for folks but considering other triples that are much smaller, several had larger aft cockpits which is probably a function of engine placement and the length of the motor and shaft.

    Hey, is that one photo a shot of one of those new Google self driving boats ?

    Only a matter of time folks, a matter of time….
