Bring the kids!

This year here in little Reedville the classic boat show is going all out and all over the town all day and night. This year the entire town is getting involved with all the docks on Main Street having old cruisers and work boats, while at the Museum will have the classic speed boats and food. And a huge special treat, Rod Moody And the Centaurs will be performing live at night. Huge Deal for us.  HERE IS A LINK TO THE MUSEUM WEBSITE For ticket info.

This little show has been growing year after year around here and this year its gonna stretch out. Which is great. Special Byboats and historic Chesapeake boats are coming down the Bay from up north to be part of it all. Jimmy and I will have many of our boats there including Stinky the poster boat and Scarlet the poster boat pooch.

I know where Reedville is! Well, I managed to find it once. Also managed to run into Jimmy twice without even looking. I highly recommend a visit to the North Neck area for those who haven’t been.

Matt you might want to photo shop the burgee right side up on the header photo. How’s this for early Monday morning criticism?

Sitting here waiting on colonoscopy after drinking broth and water for a day and you have to mention food and crab cakes. Damn I’m hungry. Sounds like the town’s hyped up for a great show.

Hey Matt, good luck with the show! We are just a month apart. Officially the smallest Classic boat show in the Woodyboaterville Universe (that we know of): Knysna Antique&Classic Boatshow, Saturday 5th October!
    Garden Route, South Africa.

I forgot to ask…does the shirt come pre-scented with the perfumes of rat feces and urine? Scented screen printing is now a thing, and this seems like a great opportunity to introduce it to the wooden boat universe.

… wellll, maybe do this as “scratch & sniff” to spare those of us with less ‘inquisitive’ noses.

Nice to know where you are.I are on top of the nipple on top of Minnesota

Looks like a great show. Lots to do and I like boat shows that charge the boat owners wanting and willing to show their boats only a $10 fee.

Not here with our Columbia Willamette chapter of the ACBS. Naw, they used to charge the $10 entry fee for our local Lake Oswego Boat Show, but then last year changed it to $65 (show fee and one ticket to the awards dinner) so that the boat owner felt compelled to attend the awards banquet to watch the same three people win yet another year’s worth of awards. (The classic car show cars at the same event are still $10.)

We just want to pay the measly $10 and show our boat. For us, it was just a fun show, saying hi to friends and giving boat rides.

Now it’s $65 to watch Mario win yet another award.

Oh well, at least you guys in Reedville will have a great time!

We Looks like a good show. Are you taking all your boats? I wondered Why there was not a red line from Hessel down to that show. I saw one from Algonac, but not the UP. Enjoy it!

  10. Randy

If Matt and Jimmy bring ALL their boats that should just about fill the show up.

  11. WoodyGal

This is a fun show with the whole town involved. It’s a charming place and the crab cakes are among the best I’ve had on the Chesapeake Bay! Lotsa fun!

Hopefully by next year I’ll bring in an associate and have all weekends off. Then I can jump on all these fun shows. The best part is Panther breaks down so often I get rides in way better boats than mine due to the pity factor. Hmm…. which Reedville boat should I ride in next year?

Oh, Matt. But next weekend is the BIG show at Bar Harbor in Gull Lake, Minnesota, site of the ACBS International in 2015. Over 100 amazing boats, including jaw dropping boats from Lee Anderson’s and John Allen’s collections. The show begins at 9 am and ends at 4 at Bar Harbor. The featured class will be launches this year. The show is co-sponsored by the BSLOL Chapter of the ACBS: The Land-O-Lakes Classic Boat Club, for short. So if Northern Minnesota is a bit closer to Reedville for you, you know where to be.
