The Sheerline Wins The Magazine Wars!

,

Best copy ever!

I know many of you may be wondering what in the heck I am talking about right now. What magazine war? Whats the Sheerline? I am so confused. Well let me explain. The Sheerline is the Newsletter from the Sunnyland Chapter of the ACBS. Home of the famous Lake Dora event in March! It’s a great group of folks who know for sure how to make the most out of the Florida Sunshine.

Bill Hancock RULES. Bill is a member of the Mopar Hall of Fame and Chrysler Race Group as a NASCAR engineer. Oh.. There is more HERE

Bill is always full of smiles and a good laugh. Always makes us feel welcome and the first to help.

Bill is a machine..on machines

More from Bill.

But more for this story, many of the folks in the chapter are and were big time people in there former work lives. And they share and participate. And in the end that’s the magic behind the success of the club and the magazine. They have a very strong volunteer network of engaged people.

The history of Burger Boat Company!

The History Of Gar Wood Custom Boats.

A Love story about Evenrude, by Dennis Evenrude

This issue particularly is so jammed with useful information I was motivated to write this story. Its worth joining the chapter even if you have never been to Florida.

Even tips on Varnishing basics

And of course ads.. Brilliant ads I might ad.. What? Hearing aids for 395? What?I need a nap!

YOU CAN JOIN THE SUNNYLAND CHAPTER WITH ONE CLICK HERE, then most likely a call. Maybe a written letter, or just ask the operator to connect you to Sunnyland 5342

I was fortunate enough to have worked with a couple of those guys during my Chrysler engineering career after they dissolved the Ramchargers. The racing spirit and gear head mentality never left them.

Today’s trivia straight out of left field…the disembodied hand known as Thing from The Addams Family in today’s Gif was played by Ted Cassidy who also was Lurch on the TV show.

Not that this has anything to do with wood boats, but Matt started it.

I have to admit that looks like a very fact filled magazine!

Did not know about the Burgers before the international show in Racine a couple of years ago. Being a cruiser guy, I have been learning about them ever since. Great boats would LOVE to read that story.

I wonder if they would mail me a copy if I made a donation?

I am on my 3rd set and if you notice in small print it says starting at $395.00, for that you will get a horn to stick in your ear. Cabellas also sell cheap hearing aids or the did for hunters to help hear their prey but remember you get what you pay for. This is especially true in hearing aids.

Had the pleasure of meeting Bill Hancock at my first boat show in Traverse City years ago. Such a friendly guy and a tremendous asset to the hobby.

The Sheerline is truly a team effort. Kurt Rothe deserves the credit for herding all of the contributors to meet their deadlines, then arranging the material in an appealing format. Skip Frey and others help with the stories. Dave Doner has the toughest job. He has to find all of the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Don Taylor promotes and sells ad space to our wonderful advertisers, so the magazine can be self-supporting.

    Hi Matt,
Thank you for the great website that you provide to enhance and educate the hobby of classic and antique boating. We appreciate your continuous publication of quality information on your website WOODYBOATER. It happens to be the first site that I visit every morning because of the varied content and your goal of helping our hobby. Thanks again Matt. Take care.
Regards, Kurt Rothe, Editor, The Sheerline Magazine,
Sunnyland Chapter ACBS. And we look forward to seeing you at our Boat Festival on March 19-22 next year. Take care!

Great article and magazine! Its fantastic that two of my favorite websites actually communicate with each other. So you know all of you folks that live north of the Florida-Georgia line will be going stir crazy by March and itching to come down for some sun and fun…. so come on down!
