Gotta Love A Classic Boat Catalog.

Finding an original cover with the logo on it would be a treasure for sure. Finding one for 10 bucks would make my head explode

They say god is in the details, and the details can sometimes be the most fun part of what we do, other than boat rides. But finding the right obscure part that your boat may have come with from the dealer. Adds to the fun for sure. And the best way to make sure it’s correct, is too find the dealer catalog from the year your boat was sold. So today I cracked open one from 1935 and 1938. kinda the same, but some cool stuff for sure. Enjoy shopping.

Note the folding chair and design on the back.

Close up. In Khaki

See it? See that? Copper Head? Tool kit!

A Copper Cylinder Head. How cool is this. You could call your boat CopperHead! Never seen one of these? Anyone?

More strange boat covers.

Brass Numbers. These would be cool if they still made these. There are close ones out there, but this exact font  is perfect. HERE are some samples of others. Perfect for names and numbers. And of course there is this very cool place in Australia. YIKES! HERE

Pyrene liquid. And that safety horn. Now I need to find one of those for stinky, not that she is required to have one. I wonder if one can refill a vintage fire extinguisher to make it usable?

There is always one of these on ebay from various years. In fact there is a 1935 and 1938 one there now. HERE is the link to the brochure, this seller has a ton of paper being sold. Claims over 500 things.

I have never seen one of these before. It really includes a variety of great stuff for outfitting boats. Too bad most of the stuff is not available any more. Thanks for sharing!

Noted the “fog horn” on page 21 (the “fire extinguisher systems” page). I was told mine came from a Chris Craft…works pretty good too!

OK, so I know this has nothing to do with classic boats and all, but your stories always seem to take me somewhere else. Just the way my mind works (or doesn’t) I guess.

I bet Jim Staib (AKA Dr.Rot) found one of those cooper heads during his move to Three Lakes.

    PS: Speaking of old accessories.

Copper heads standard on A120A V-8. Hard to hold a head gasket though due to extreme coefficient of expansion between iron and copper.

Love the tow ring! We all need one of those.
    Italian linen ropes? OMG
Talk to your local fire station about refilling with styrene. I have the original extinguisher on my ‘67 Super Sport and they refill it, not with styrene.

I have similar catalogs from the 60’s – 70’s but they are more filled with generic boating accessories than specific Chris Craft stuff.

Pyrene was found to emit phosgene gas when exposed to metal over a certain temperature in a fire. That’s a toxic nerve gas used in WW2 so you won’t find refilling these an option. It is carbon tetra chloride a known carcinogen. Classic boating shouldn’t be a health risk while having fun.

I remember one of those Fog Horns in our boat house as a kid, when I get home in May I’m going to look for it….it may still be there.

Matt maybe Algonac Cast Products still has the castings for the numbers……wouldn’t hurt to ask.
