Go Out To Dine On Your Boat

,

One happy Boatress

Around here in Virginia and across the country, restaurants are opening up to outdoor seating 50% and other creative ways to dine and keep our local business going. But lets be honest. The only thing that is really keeping this horrible virus down is distancing and staying as clear as possible. And you all know the stuff you need to do.

Sweet Pea is all set up for trips. We have our own bathroom and water!

Fly your quarantine flag to tell folks not to come on board

We had touched on this before but is a creative way to go out and eat at your local on the water restaurant. Take the boat and eat on the boat. Sit at the dock. I am sure the waiters and staff will be happy to help. And I am not sure of the legal issues. But not sure if you count as part of the 50% since in a way you are take out and not in the building. Honestly. I am going to do this for myself, forget any laws or orders. Its just common sense.

Real food

So get your boat ready. I have moved a deck table on board, doll it up, and you will find that its the right way to go even if you have a sportsman, use the engine hatch as a base for a table. Make it like a picnic.

You can finally use this

And more importantly, get out there. Get your sanity back and do the social distancing in style.

I am so glad you wrote this article!

I have just explained to my wife that we need to open the ‘Woody Diner’ and invite a couple. After getting to our favorite cove, spreading a tablecloth over the motorbox sets the mood. My wife is an excellent cook and the rest takes care of itself!

    Keep this stuff coming!!!

The Algonquin on Lake George is offering “dockside” service at their extensive drive up docks. No way to get there from Colorado:-(

Thanks Matt for the free commercial. Yesterday, at the Fabulous Moonlite Bay in Crosslake Minnesota we moved our gazebo computer down to the bottom of our stairs (there has to be 50 of them) to our docks (there are 50 of them). The attached photo shows our hill climb. Now guests can order from the docks and sit in their lavish pontoons (or hopefully a classic cruiser) and chow down.

Sounds like a good idea but here in Saugatuck Michigan all the river front dining is half under water ; a double wammy for a small tourist town

In talking to a lot of my Marine Business owner customers, the high water levels on all the Great Lakes is the double whammy this year, after the lockdowns.
Slips and the electrical boxes are underwater, even parking lots! Boat ramps are closed, and seawalls are collapsing.
I hate to say it, but it may bankrupt a lot of Marine Businesses.
Plus all States around the Great Lakes, have yet to open up bars or restaurants.
I am coming over to visit Matt, just to enjoy a good seafood meal while floating on Sweet Pea!!!

This looks wonderful! I hope that restaurant gets a lot of business as a result of this piece.
