Happy July 4th – Get Out There! Go On! And Don’t Come Home Until Supper.

We proudly did the American thing yesterday, we burned up around 50 gallons of fuel. The Boatress and I just ran the heck of WECATCHEM all day. We have put the V8 on hold and got a new old manifold for the W and she has never run better. The V8 will be installed this winter. Because there is no way in hell I am pulling the boat now.

The weather here in Virginia was perfect. Perfect perfect. The kind of day that if thats the one day you get to go out for the entire year, it was worth it. And hopefully today brings the same sort of reward for all the work.

Thunderstorms all day yesterday so we just hunkered down in a chloride bottle. Lobster rolls for dinner helped. Clearing up nicely today for a woody ride. Happy 4th all.

We did our July 4th boating on the the third because we’re trailer boaters and the ramps and inland lakes in our area would be a little more crazy than I’m comfortable with in my 62 year old 16 footer. My son and I got the boat out on the big lake (Michigan) for the first time this year and it was a beautiful morning. This is what our boats were made for.
