Brian Robinson – Family, Family, and Family. Then Boats. Ya, Glorious Boats.

Brian & Michelle Robinson 2012

Chances are you have already heard of Brian Robinson. One of the first Young Guns and still gunning for perfection. Brian represents the best of all we can hope for in our community. Smart, nice, talented, and shares information. And here is the best part, and for some odd reason I love this about Robinson Restoration. Digitally Invisible. No Website, Facebook, just word of mouth and pure talent. Brian lets the work do the talking. And Man oh Manischewitz, does it do the screaming.

Henry Fords Evangeline

Good god

A Custom perfect matched interior

We captured this once in a lifetime shot up on Gull Lake.

Brian judges the famous Tahoe show, has details in his head that are like museum vaults, and all this while being a great husband and dad. He also gets to live the ultimate gift of life, and thats working side by side with his father.

Tim. Wake up! This is a photo from the time they went boating on the Belagio Lake in Vegas!

A family tradition in the works

I know Brian, and he will not be comfortable with all this mushiness. But he deserves it. He is more than a young gun in my book, he is a pal, and pillar of our community regardless of age. So Brian, today your worst fear is right here. You are on the internet!

Two of Brains masterpieces!

Some advice if you don’t mind. Facebook has been taken over by the Russians, so unless you want to do work for them, or crazy old white guys.. Oh wait.. Facebook could work for you..

Some of Brians work. His attention to detail is brain surgical precise.

You may recall Brian Shared some of his data with us. Every singe 25 Sportsman. AHHHHH CLICK HERE FOR THAT STORY

All kidding aside Brian is on Instagram, and although he doesn’t post all that often, this is where all the kids are.. Were, Ugh, now Tik Tok, which is really a data mine for the Chinese. ya know what, stay data clean Brian, we all know and love you.

Brian uses the boats for sure!

It’s official, we all want to be in the Robinson Family!

Family is everything, and some cool boats. ya, and maybe a cool car, and while we are at it. Living in California, oh and going to Lake Tahoe, and ……

Some beautiful restorations of some very high end boats and that old school rail is pretty impressive also. I think Brian has his act together!

Boy, you said it! Two first class guys in the boating world for sure! Really proud to know them both, always willing to help any way they can, and Brian’s knowledge of pretty much all boats is so extensive! Especially those Garwoods. Anyone wanting first class work and service should give them a call, none better!!

25 yrs ago I use to volunteer at the Concourse d’ Elegance show at Sierra boat works to get in free, hang with the coolest boats on earth and meet the best restorers around. Tim and Brian were the first I had met, along with Al Schinnenner. After 3 yrs of a volunteer, I shared my idea with them of starting MBW here in McCall, Idaho. There help and guidance has brought me to a level I never imagined and a lifestyle on our lake that never knew of the real world of wood runabouts. It has been 18 years now and Tim & Brian are just a phone call away for more advice and shared knowledge. I will forever be indebted to Robinson Restorations. They are the best and to have a working relationship with your father is priceless.

Tim and Brian are blessed to have all the knowledge and skills they possess, not to mention the family they have. It doesn’t get any better than that!

After Brian’s story here in 2015 about Evangeline, I decided that she would make a great subject for a model. So, I called Brian. Just some unknown guy from Michigan calling to waste his time, right? Wrong. Brian talked with me for over an hour, was very encouraging, and sent me a flash drive containing all of his research, along with history and photos of the original boat and the various stages of her restoration. When we met up at the Gull Lake Show, he helped me take measurements and photos of the boat. Over the next 18 months he answered emails, shared ideas, took more photos and measurements and cheered me on. I can’t thank Brian for his generosity. In this age of super egos, Brian is a very knowledgeable and humble person. And a good friend.

I am currently dealing with a heartbreaking boat issue, one I never wish upon anyone in our love for the hobby. My 1946, 22 ft Sportsman….SANK…SUNK! I am fortunate enough to have Brian live in close proximity. He’s amazing! Efficient, professional, an artist, beyond knowledgeable and most important KIND! I only hope that once the dust settles and Hagarty figures it out, we will be able to let Brian ( et all ) do their magic. He’s the future and the future looks bright!

Sounds like good people. The restorations look amazing. I’m quite partial to the single cockpit “Thunderstruck”. Looks like a CC 19′ R/R with a decked over forward cockpit. Restomod or reproduction of 19 footer? Maybe someone can chime in.

Thanks Matt!! I count my blessings everyday. I still get to work with my dad most days and now my 4 year old Lucas comes to the shop a couple days a week while his Nana watches him and he critiques us both.

Evangeline sold three years ago and lives in a grand boathouse in the Muskokas.

Thunderstruck is my 1952 Chris-Craft Racing Runabout I decked the aft cockpit over and left most of the hardware off. I just thought it would look cool that way and most folks agree. Though with the family it’s not the most practical boat and is set to go on BaT for sale next week.

No website, no Facebook and proud of it. It’s the old “don’t look in the yellow pages for a good doctor” mentality. If people want to find me they usually do. I do pick up the phone 760.468.1009

Always a class act and wealth of knowledge and plenty of patience to answer all my entry level questions. Im a late bloomer to the game and try to soak up all the info I can and a lot of that info is from Brian. Always treats me like I been around for a long time and I appreciate that and have major respect for him and his father.

Tim & Brian Robinson are premium individuals and first class restoration experts, with complete respect for the history.

When trying to write stories about classic boats for Woody Boater, Brian was always there to help me through the story and I always had confidence that the information he provided was accurate and true.

Thanks for all you guys do for the hobby!

I’m sure I speak for all of us in the Southern California chapter of the ACBS in saying that we appreciate the Robinsons and their wonderful family. So glad to see that Brian is carrying on the tradition of the family business in such a wonderful way! Brians dad Tim, I’m sure is very proud, that his son has picked up the reins and continues the business the way he has. We all hope that this great asset to the antique and classic community will be around for a long time.

The Robinson’s restored my 1942 Chris Craft Barrelback and “Perfection” doesn’t come close to describing their work! We are blessed to have them in our community!
