I can be in meetings … Oar painting.

Over the past few days, I have been out in the barn creating artwork, and as things progressed I found a deeper meaning in painting oars. Yes Painting oars. Now, painted oars are nothing new in our passion. But as I was painting along, all with vintage Pettit and One Shot colors, I discovered the solution for our country.

Different yet the same

Yup, as we are all about to vote, lets take a moment to accept all our unique oars, and if we all row in the same direction, at the same time. We can move forward. And only then can we get anyplace. Together.

Going on a wall at my office. With a line. “WE ROW AS ONE”

This is a sample of how it will look on the wall of the office

This isn’t politics, this isn’t anti anything, it’s basic team work. If we all grab our oars and start rowing in our direction, all we will do is spin. And during that time, the oars that.. Oh great jehosafats, this is starting to get way to deep, and not only do I need boots, but an oar to paddle out of this ship. Anyway, today Oars, paddles and just that.

Used up some paint thinner, thats for sure

Different designs all freehand and made up as I go. that was the fun part. No plan, just go with the flow of the paint

The oars are el cheepo ones from West marine. 50 bucks a piece. The time rocking out to load music and painting.. Priceless.

Rowing is a great analogy of what’s going on right now. If you pull with one oar and push with the other you just keep going around in circles. The left and right oars need to pull together. Calm seas and fair winds to all!

Nice analogy Matt. The wall will look great. Gotta say the oar paint schemes remind me of your socks. BTW – had a blast on Saturday. Glad to have been part of the sloooow adventure.

    Here’s the challenge:
Regardless of how the election turns out, I will not hold hate, disdain or ridicule for those who voted differently than me. Weather I am pleased or upset about the outcome, I will seek to understand the concerns and aspirations of those who voted differently and will look for opportunities to work with people with whom I disagree.

Wow you are a real artist, thats for sure Matt!

Love the Hugger Orange on the one to my left btw, reminds me of the 69 Camaro in my barn….

Thanks, now I have a plan for the two sets of oars in the garage rafters!

Many see a skull in peril as there is a good chop developing on the river yet most in the boat are looking at their own feet. And while there are a few on both sides ready to row, there are others who have lost all hope, there are a few that have secretly put their money on another team, a few never schooled themselves on how to row, and the coxswain is a petulant four year old child. Oh, and two idiots are just looking at their phone….

Amen, what a sad collection of brain dead morons!
I mean the ones voting for a couple of Communists who pledge to do away with fossil fuels,. That will be the end of this hobby., you morons! Except for Pea Soup — there will be No 2 oil for truckers.

Hey, any of you who vote for those two, I will hold it against you although it will be funny as hell to see you rowing around the lake in your formerly fast “speed” boats.

Some great metaphors in all this – and spot on observations… Rowing is an incredible sport and exercise – a true example of what can be accomplished when working together in perfect synchronicity, focus and purpose – something sadly lacking in our country at this time. But there is always hope and this community exemplifies that. Thank you, Matt!

You could paint two like skunks and mount them on the stern of “Stinky” as fins.Wood look kool and be useful too.
